  1. Pro: Lots of RP. Tons of it. It's easy to find your thing without much effort looking. Whether you like light, heavy, grimdark, happy stuff, sexy stuff, whatever it is, there's a market for it. Cons: A lot of it bends or outright breaks lore in ways that makes one vomit up blood. If you're not in the 'cool kids club', your character has no cred and essentially doesn't exist.
  2. "Mature" http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/the-sopranos-2_7524.jpg[/img] "Dark"
  3. Luca: Every revenge anime ever, except nothing ever happens. So. Almost every revenge anime ever. Leih'a: Ex-Pitdog Ex-Corsair Secret-Ninja machinist looking for love. He fails at all of those things. Ninifae:
  4. I've been wanting to get into one of these some day. I'd like to get into this one with my machinist, Leih'a. However, I've only the smalllest inkling of the FATE sheets. I can probably whip one up if someone points me to a guide of some sort. I'll do my own nosing around, see what I can dig up on the FATE-14 system.
  5. Luca Yumitori: To reclaim her father's honor, she must become blacker than dusk. I suck at these.
  6. My male Keeper, Leih'a Relanah would be all over this. Skysteel Manufactory represent!
  7. It's a good thing to return to at the end of the saltiest run of Sohm Al too.
  8. Um... Nira never did bother to get a chocobo license...
  9. A compliment to Chachan for having patience to RP with me tonight, despite a parade of 90002 errors that kept knocking me offline. His patiently waiting for me to return is well appreciated.
  10. Leih Relanah, daughter of uh... Leih Relanah. Ninifaje' (fah-yay) Rarafaje' And um... Rukahisa Yumitori, I guess? Even though I shelved 'er, let's get Leon Winsley on here as well.
  11. For me? I treat 'em as a badge of office, not necessarily a magical steroid rock. ICly? They'd raise questions for my cast. ESPECIALLY if someone claims to be a Job from the DoM line. I wouldn't shun the RPer outright, but my chars would meet it with due logic.
  12. For me, White Mage is my mainest of mains, but even then, Arcanist is more of Nira's speed. The only part of Conjury she really applies is the offensive aspects of manipulating wind, rock, and water. For Leih'a however, Machinist has kind of overtaken his identity. Sorta helps that even before the job was announced, he was a dead ringer for the Miqo'te they used in the promo material. And for Luca? I use gladiator as a place-bo for her sword style. She incorporates a lot of fencing techniques as well as some iaijutsu, but I can't says he's strictly an actual 'Gladiator' by the game's definition of one. Leih'a is really the only one who plays by the book in regards to this question.
  13. Leih'a would probably pass out dried fruit along with religious pamphlets that instruct ways one can open their heart and souls to the loving embrace of Menphina. Gonna be a lot of rotten vegetables in the yard...
  14. I'll just leave this here: "Obelisk The'dark synthesizes a length of spruce lumber."
  15. Rooting out voidsent cults? Where can Nira sign up?
  16. *drops in* hi. Nira's expertise is with the school of Arcanima, and she studies the way the scholars of Nym used it as a means of battlefield support. Due to recent circumstances, she lost touch with most of her magical output, but the the knowledge is still there. Even as an arcanist, she has a vested interest in all forms of magic, ranging from Thaumaturgy and Astrologica, to even the most mundane stuff like using crystals to expediate one's craft work, or the workings and applications of glamour prisms. She also tutors others in how they use their own magical abilities, but she's only interested in helping those who have a will to reach out and put in the gods honest effort on their own. Currently, she's out in Idyllshire, but drifts between there and her home in the Lavender Beds of Gridania.
  17. I know that. I was thinking about an Allagan manikin creator who grew fond of one of his creations and gave it a face and a mind, making it sentient, and keeping it for himself. Alternatively, you could take the 'subterfuge' angle. Android spies created specifically to guise as humans, have programmable personalities, and through a neuro-link connection, they'd be a semi-unwitting, or completely unwitting host for another person in the Allagan empire to spy on their rivals to the throne or advancement up the social/corporate/military ladder or some such. I could see a ruthless conquering nation like ancient Allag having a tad bit of infighting. Garlemald certainly had it's civil war for a time while it's leaders were clamoring for the throne. And they are, if anything a modern analog to the ancient Allagan empire.
  18. "Soon, my armpit... the world will know our perspirant fury!"
  19. I wouldn't mind if Nins had some connections. She'd gotten some solid basic hand to hand training by someone who studied under a Fist before, and she's looking to bring her physical prowess more in balance with her magical abilities.
