Thanks for throwing this! I was just thinking the other day before I saw about it that Mih Khetto's Amphitheater was underutilized. Tt was very fun, I know Rog also every much enjoyed it. I am sure he will be back and I def. come by to watch when work allows me to! I am glad to see you post the stories. Next time if I have to bail, I know I will at least get to finish it!

Well, I can certainly get that. I do wish there was another strong RP server that could be a hub for those that don't wish to transfer. Also would let people/FC get some housing on say a more empty server, unlike here where you either have to pay a ton or be very lucky. I have thought about trying to help with that But I just lack the time to since I have my own FC and all that jazz.

Is a voidsent hunter group. Or at least were, not certain of current state of things. Would just be amusing with your name

Unless Gilga picked up - I left there because of lack of RP. Plus RP'ers were getting trolled hard due to a scandal that happened. I am sure that has calmed down at least. I have heard about Siren having pockets of it. There was another one..someone said Famfrit has RP. Many places have pockets of RP, but as far as I know not like Balmung. What do you dislike about it? I found it overwhelming at first, I even moved back to Gilga for a month before caving and moving back. Thankfully second go around I made some very good friends.

I am excited about the outfits. Yuna's will look chidorable on my little Raen, Chidori.

Most have been stated, I am certainly guilty of a few. - "Growing" her hair out. - I will level for outfit options. I once had a friend help me get my Goldsmith to 60 because I wanted to make a dress out of the top and wear it to a wedding >.>;; - I also got most of my crafting up so I could make my own items, because must have all the pretties. - I have thought way too long about various outfit combos. - I have music playlists for each of my characters and a few couple ones. - My partner and I share music/media that make us think of the characters (Like the dorks we are ) And I like to sit certainly places and think. Like Ritsu likes to sit out in Costa on the cliff. Chi likes to sit near the boco stables in Ul'dah and people watch

Personally, I like my alts. I was name changing my second character a lot - but it got to the point it was expensive >.>;; My main will always remain as she is the half of the head to my FC. The Wandering Tonberry is "owned" by a married couple. So unless my partner and I decided to go a different route, she will remain as is. My first alt came about as I had two people interesting in doing the bonding. I talked it over with them, decided Ritsu suited Flynt best. But I agreed to make a character for my IRL partner. First I made Mokuren, which ended up not working out. Then I made Chidori, which has so far worked out for the most part. Chidori I also consider my main as I put in a lot of work for her. I still liked Mokuren, so I ended up making her as well. And then I have a villain character I pull out as needed. I kind of have one random one. Still on the fence what to do with her. I like the concept, she already has a 60 under her belt. Anyways. Either route you choose should work, doing something fresh I find helps. The only thing I have seen with the name changing is it can get kind of confusing (and for some addicting). I have one friend that would do it every few months so it was really hard to do anything long term with them because you never know what whim might strike them and they change. Currently they are stuck to a degree since they told me if they change again within a year I get 5 mil :3 But we also worked out something where it is the same character, but she changes from time to time.

I found it very worth it. I moved here two years ago from Gilga myself. There are tons of server wide events, like Grindstone, Runestone ect. Tons of RP FC's and open world RP as well.

I never do it >.> At least not to a complete stranger. If I have met someone before hand, she will at very least greet them. A good chunk of it is social anxiety, which has gotten worse as of late. It is part of the reason Ritsu is as she is. I do have more social characters, but I usually am at least with one other person. Flynt even needed to catch her a few as she would avoid him IC'ly a bit. It is something I am trying to work at. But recently I just freeze up, even when people talk to me when I am not expecting it. Personally, I do not use them for IC purposes. My main is an archer with a hidden talent, which most do not know of unless they are very close to her. Talent..would also be the wrong word to use. Another character is just a lancer, another uses a gun. One is completely civilian. Suppose the only tricky one is Chidori. As for others. I am not going to rain on someones RP parade. More than likely I would try to steer away from that topic if it came up as I am usually not sure how to IC'ly take it more than Ritsu being like "Ah, that is lovely." If I was ever going to RP having one myself, I would prob keep it a close guarded thing. Only people close to her would know about it.

Maybe look at Vegans. It sounds very similar. Question would be does it extend to more bug like creatures. It would really cut down options for clothing if it does extend to that. Hempen clothing would be an option.

Events are great because you know the folks that are there are looking for RP! Some folks might tell you to buzz of. It just might be in their IC nature. I know some folks see it as fishing? But I think making emotes like ordering a drink, or looking for someone or studying a hunt board (as a few examples) can be an opening for someone to RP if they have similar interests. However, I wouldn't completely rely on it but something to throw out time to time til you find something of interests. RP FC or LS are a great way to meet people. Fair few RP FC host their own events and what not. Or you could always check out "Looking for Connections" and pre plan a meet up!

I have an alt problem. I have 5, 3 at 60's, 2 are work in-progress ones. I get on my 3-5 ones from time to time and donk around. My 1-2 I put the most work into. Both have multiple 60's and very well "take care of". I regards to items/farming things and what not. I at least like having the two. If I can't be on Ritsu due to IC reasons and I WANT to RP there is always Chi. Or if I want a change of pace, Ritsu and Chi are not even remotely a like. It is work But it isn't bad if you pace yoursef like do leveling roulette and then story for a hour or so a day.

A lore folk can come by and correct me if I am wrong. But if I am recalling correctly Moogles are friendly with Slyphs? Or even could make it where your moogle is. Slyphs can glamour. So prehaps it would not be TOO far fetched that a Slyph friend gave an item/potion to the moogle so he could take a more normal form. Could roll a lala and even give them like pale skin and pom colored hair. Or if you are not a fan of lalas, could level Ninja and hide then pull out moogle minon. Could poof when stressed or nervous.

My friend has felt this as well. He played a lovely little lala gent that wrote stories and often would talk to people to acquire new stories. He tried to get out there, but was often dismissed. Either as a child or just completely ignored. Broke my heart because I loved the character.

Another idea - just putting it out there. Is maybe do an open world wedding if you do not want to risk it. Like a beach one if your characters are fond of the beach ect ect.

For me clothes are just that. My character doesn't go around claiming she is wearing some rare artifact or what not. My alt classes are quick wardrobe changes for me. She will not have her bow with her if she is on an alt class. Pretty much anything I can make a dress into on Ritsu - is gonna happen. I have leveled classes just for her outfits ...seriously. I got Goldsmith to 60 because I wanted the chest for it to wear for a wedding >.>;;

I am kind of getting back into the swing of things myself, anxiety has been getting bad with strangers, but trying to push past it I have several different characters to choose from, granted two are still in a leveling phase. Ritsu Knoltros (Wildwood Elezen) is who I am on the most. She is a very quiet, polite archer and tends to be very no nonsense type. Runs the Wandering Tonberry with her husband Flynt Knoltros. Chidori Farcloud (Raen Au ra) my second most on character. She is kind hearted girl, clumsy healer, always willing to help. Very naive and her speak pattern is a bit strange. (At least for now - I hope she grows out of it >.>; I tend to make my characters but they kind of go in the direction that flows best. How she started before I rp'ed her was a bit different ) Umiko Tetsumi (Seeker Miqo) Gun toting, full of sass miqo. Her backstory have to be altered as the plot it was for fell thru, so still semi in the works. Often can be seen with her childhood friend Rei. My two others that are not 60 yet: Mokuren Eldrid (midlander hyur) Former con-artist, now manager at the Mad Moogle Inn & Tavern. Tends to be a little abrasive. Goes by Ren. She is just a civilian by trade. Riza Daernith (Dusk Elezen) My villain character. Merc, disagreeable, was VERY evil - but now that is starting to mellow out, however she still will do whatever as long as it is in her best interests. (I switched around toons, so I would at least like to get her to 30 lancer before I pull her back out into the fray. For whatever reason decided to level WHM on her first just because I can fly by content wise on that >.>) Granted anyone with & are RP'ers. Some characters are not the most agreeable however.

The only time I have had to wait for more than a few minutes to log in is patch days and the expansion. But I am guessing most servers were like that unless it was a pretty dead one. Like Unnamed said, you can find small patches of RP other servers - Siren seems to have some. But Balmung is a whole different ballgame. Huge events, open world RP. When I moved there I was just shocked about the difference.

I wouldn't see that as being far off. I know many a miqo'te that go with more hyur names for one reason or another. Could also be a writers pen name, prehaps only people closest to her know her real one. My name isn't lore friendly as well, but I made her before I really got into RP and name changes weren't a thing back then. Plus...liked the name. I worked around it. She ended up having an eccentric mother who was way into Doman lit - named her daughters from books she had read.

I am curious to know if Gilga picked back up. I actually left there two years ago cause RP just died. At least open world did. Might find it in FC's and whatnot still. But I was thinking about it the other day and was curious
