I kind of agree with Teadrinker, go into your character's backstory and see what flaws would make sense. Another way would be to think about your character's personality and think up some downsides to it. For example, if a character is heroic and will do whatever it takes to save the day, maybe they're a bit stubborn or impulsive. Is your character super smart and charming? Maybe that could cause them to be manipulative. Stuff like that.

Akeno, the people who want a second place prize are being butts. The Invitational should be about the RP, not about the reward money.

My favorite headcanon wasn't in Final Fantasy, it was in WoW. One of my guild leaders was a gnome paladin! I thought he executed his character very well and made it believable that he was a Knight of the Silver Hand. I had a lot of fun RPing with him on my gnome priest and both characters were really good friends... I miss my old guild sometimes.

I read the first few posts and then just scanned through the rest so I may be repeating myself but I made my own splinter tribe of the Jaguars called the Yzh Tribe. Instead of valuing strength or agility, the Yzh tribe valued magic. Nuhns were determined via magic duel and they bred for magic/aether potency. So you could totally make up your own version of the Jaguars. Some people make up their own tribe completely and not base it on any of the current tribes in lore. As for white magic, I would do what you want. If your character has a genuinely good reason to be one that would fit with her backstory, then do it. Also like someone said earlier, conjurers are pretty bad ass.

Hi there! I'm originally from Balmung but a few of my friends wanted to try Mateus and we decided to RP lizards together! I have a Xaela that I just started working on and I want to eventually either find a free company or a few active linkshells as well as some individual connections. So! This is my character, Sarnai Dazkar: Just in case if anyone doesn't know, the Dazkars are a tribe who believe that the men should tend to the family at home while the women are the breadwinners. They're also very skilled archers. Sarnai pretty much grew up on this philosophy, she was trained in archery at a very young age and was very good at it. She ended up overcoming Bardam's Mettle at an usually young age as well. Sarnai was a very fiesty young adult, even for her tribe. She didn't seem content with settling down with a family and her tribe is very family oriented so she decided to leave and travel to Eorzea! As of right now she's just a wanderer who doesn't know what she wants to do in life. She's a very adventurous, cheerful, yet sometimes intense person and I can't wait to develop her. So if you know of any FCs, linkshells or just want to RP, let me know! I already checked the linkshell and free company halls here and I'll be browsing the connections board as well.

In comparison to WoW RP, I do notice that Final Fantasy RP, at least on Balmung has a lot of slice of life stuff: festivals, concerts, tavern nights. Nothing wrong with that, and I'm sure if I really wanted adventure I'm sure I could find that sort of RP. But I do kind of find it funny that I played a gnomish battle medic on World of Warcraft and now I play an entertainer and a doctor with semi normal lives. But like I said, I'm sure I could change this if I really wanted to.

A couple was even able to open a restaurant because of them! Maybe you can spot the little dragon for yourself and get some luck!

I have the same question as everyone else - where are you seeing this hate? Because I main a miqo'te and lalafell and I've never had people tell me that they won't RP with me because of the race I play. If they did, it would be obvious that they weren't worth my time anyways. I think you should play what you want and enjoy it. You're paying a subscription after all to have fun here. A miqo'te bard and a lalafell summoner sound like great concepts. I can't wait to see what sort of personality traits and backstories you develop for these characters.

I don't have anything against paragraph roleplayers, but in my experience the people who are, are usually the ones who are very picky about how their roleplay is. What kind of skill level your RP partner is at, how the RP plays out, the style of the RP partner's writing and I usually want to steer clear of that, especially since I see roleplay as just a fun thing to do and would prefer RP partners to be more casual and laid back.

I'm usually on RPC and Discord and only go in-game if i have something planned but I'll be sure to just get on for the sake of getting on and playing the game to check for you online.

What kind of FC are you looking for? Something more adventure? A slice of life type of deal? A criminal group (your roe doesn't sound like a criminal but just thought I'd ask lol)? For adventure I'd recommend groups like Wayfarer's , Outriders (forgot their shorthand), and the Ironclaws . A few other random FCs I recommend are Cat's Meow ... I think?, Bandee Pakshee - which is my FC, Lily , and Golden Gil Casino . I could list some more but those are the FCs that came to my mind.

That's how I get commends, I stick around while a lot of people rush to leave, so the others left over just pick me because I'm there. I get a decent amount of comms that way.
