1. I find all of the females beautiful, personally. I don't find Lalafell females "sexy", per se, but they can still be pretty. Though that doesn't mean a Lalafell couldn't have a sexy personality! I've met at least two of those. Anyway, we all know that Merlwyb being the sexiest woman on the whole planet is objective fact, soooooo... Plz marry me, Merlwyb. *sobs*
2. There is a bit of a discrepancy that I caught. I read the Polygon interview first, but then in THIS INTERVIEW, Yoshi-P said that they "definitely will not start at level 1". So I am conflicted on which source to believe...
3. We have a little over three and a half months until the expansion hits... Is that not enough time to get the MSQ done for most people?
4. Someone translated some highlights from the Famitsu interview: http://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/2z06p9/famitsu_paxeast_interview/
5. Wait, I'm confused... In the Polygon interview, Yoshi-P said that the new jobs will start from level 1. But in this Reddit interview, he says they definitely won't. Perhaps the Polygon interviewer just heard him wrong? That or Yoshi-P be trollin'.
6. I will second the notion of anyone from Freelance's FC. I really wanted to join hers initially, but a good friend of mine ending up making a guild. I love your concepts!
7. I have family that lives in Philadelphia, and Rita's are all over that damned place, so I remember them quite vividly from my childhood. However... My general impressions of that place were just "it's alright". I've never really seen what all the hubbub was about. I think I'm just not one for liquid sugar and ice, I guess.
8. I've been wondering this as well... It would be very interesting if they didn't.
9. I'm subscribed to him as well! He's super sweet and very polite. And his cute accent is d'aww~ Like him a lot. <3 A very underrated YT cooking duo I'd like to spotlight is Brothers Green Eats. They come up with a lot of creative ways to use and/or combine ingredients you may not have thought of before... or cook things using methods you may not have thought of. They've been on TV a couple of times before, as well (Chopped, Rachel Ray, and were hosts of some MTV food special). Very fun to watch. Here's a list of other cooking channels I follow that're a bit more popular: ...I'd add more, but we'd be here all day. I... I really like food channels, okay?!
10. Edit: Update from first post -- Lvl 60 AF2 Gear & Lvl 60 DoH & DoL Gear Also, SE was kind of sneaky and uploaded the Heavensward Tour video to the FFXIV Youtube channel 4 days ago. (Maybe I'm late? But I had no idea.) Anyway, now we can watch it over and over again in good quality! And DAT MUSIC: okypXypR80U
11. SEE PICTURES OF THE AF2 GEAR HERE! (Edit: Some of the DoH and DoL stuff is missing.)
12. I'm admittedly not entirely sure of what you're getting at here? For the latter half of your post, yes, I meant specifically when other players are affected both IC and OOC. If someone is off having whatever issues and it's not affecting anyone other than themselves... of course it's not necessarily problematic.
13. To extrapolate a bit on where I'm coming from on this, I believe that everyone has some portion of themselves in their roleplay characters. No matter how great or how infinitesimal that portion may be. This isn't to say that if you RP a jerk that you are a jerk, too. But rather, your interpretation of how that jerky character should act is formed uniquely from your perspective. Putting your own spin on a character archetype is putting a piece of yourself into the character. Exploring the results of that is actually one of many reasons RP is so much fun. However, everything I just described up there should not be confused with "bleed" or "blending". When most RPers talk about blending, we're talking about negativity that is bred from doing so. We're talking about something that goes beyond escapism sometimes. People who either can't or have great difficultly separating fantasy from reality. To be fully immersed or invested is one thing. To use roleplay as a means to nurse some fragile obsessive need a person may have to be praised, desired, or vindicated... That's something else.
14. My friends and I have always called this "blending", as in blending the line between IC and OOC. When looking for potential RP partners or new recruits to RP guilds in any game, this is one of the BIGGEST red flags we search for. If the character has too much overlap with the person, if their character pretty much just IS the player, or if the player takes things done or said to their character personally... That means it's time to seek other avenues. This is most commonly found in new RPers (as others have probably stated), and in that case, I make exceptions. You're learning and we all had to start somewhere. This is your precious first or second-time character, and you may not quite get (or like) the concept that they are exclusively a tool for entertainment. I understand that. It's when I find traces of this behavior in individuals who have been RPing for a long time that all my alarm bells go off. While dealings vary on a case by case basis, the more unpleasant examples I can recall were extraordinarily unpleasant. I've watched a handful of entire guilds crumble due to this nonsense.
15. I'm personally pissed that the Riviera dress is a one-piece outfit and that females did not get a separate top and bottom like the males. What is even the excuse for that...?
16. Well, regardless. It's here and we have it. Better to have it and have it be unisex rather than for it to not be in the game at all. They easily could've given us no new outfits whatsoever.
17. I would tell them to get the fuck out because they were created to serve as a tool for my amusement, not some buddy I want to create an emotional attachment to. ...What? <_<
18. I wouldn't say they "caved". That outfit being unisex wasn't some last minute decision made in response to the temporary uproar. To have things ready for 2.51, that had to have been planned out way in advance.
19. Damn, I knew I was forgetting something. Definitely add Disgaea to my list. I stopped caring for the series after Disgaea 2 because I don't like the characters or plotlines of later installments. (I personally ignore D2 because it was just... It was so lackluster and kind of tacky. It felt more like a non-canonical spin-off than a proper sequel. Ugh.) I did also really enjoy the Rune Factory games in the Harvest Moon series. I didn't play 3 because I didn't like the characters all that much... and I skipped 4 because I didn't own a 3DS at the time (I can remedy that now that I have one). But man, did I enjoy 1 and 2! God Eater is another I'll tack on. Take Monster Hunter, make combat much faster paced, put it in a post-apocalyptic setting, and make it heavily story-focused. That's GE is a nutshell.
20. Legend of Dragoon is not only the game that got me into JRPGs... It's the game I have to thank for even making me a gamer. Until I came across a demo for it (back when demo collection disks from Toys R Us were a thing), I had always considered video games to be dumb time-wasters for kids that I'd eventually grow out of. But then I encountered LoD... 4 delicious disks with 20 hours' worth of content each. Man, what a fucking ride. It was like... the Wheel of Time of JRPGs. I will never, ever, EVER forget that game. Now that my fangirl explosion is done, some others: Wild ARMs (1, 3, and 5 are my favorites) Persona (3 and 4) Star Ocean (3 and 4... I don't care what people say about the plot/terrible dub, I enjoyed The Last Hope) Eternal Sonata (beautiful game) The World Ends With You (a DS gem) Kingdom Hearts (1, 2, and Chain of Memories... Don't care for the other three spin-offs) Chrono Trigger (should be self-explanatory) Golden Sun (1 & 2, GBA gems... don't care for the DS one) Honorable Mentions: Lost Odyssey -- SURPRISINGLY good (and DEPRESSING) story undermined by a really sluggish first half, and a combat system some may dislike Drakengard/Drag-On Dragoon 3 and Nier (either version) -- Okay, I confess. I haven't played either of these. The gameplay... leaves much to be desired in either, imo. But I adore their plots, characters, and soundtracks. The world building and composition was amazing in both of them.
21. Keeper names don't really come off as Japanese-esque to me. I can maybe see how one might consider such, but... Keeper and Seeker Miqo'te names we've seen given to NPCs (or that have been spewed from the in-game name gen) seem closer to the Bengali language to me. Either that or, as Berrod said, possibly an African language. I can't say much on the migration bit as I think we know too little to make any solid guesses, honestly. But Zero makes a good point about how we have ONLY seen Hyur Domans plus Yugiri thus far.
22. At the time of this post, Balmung is still currently open (Gilgamesh is, too)! I repeat, Balmung is open!
23. Same here. Back to the drawing board, I think... Screw that, I'm done worrying about other people's RP (that's what ruined Miqo'te for me). I'm sticking to it. Ah, you beat me to it! Doesn't bother me if others have similar lines of thinking to mine. I wanna RP what I enjoy. If anything, maybe it just means great minds think alike. That and this is all still in the early conceptual stages. Buddy and I still talking through different possibilities and patiently waiting on dat lore drop, of course.
24. I'm going to have both a male and a female Au Ra. The girl will likely be an astrologian IC, but if lore is weird/unforgiving, she'll be a thaumaturge and/or arcanist. She will look precious, but have a blunt personality with a dark sense of humor. She'll be part of a duo with a friend's character. We're waiting on lore and blahblahblah... But the general concept is that my friend's Au Ra is essentially going to be a bodyguard to mine. Sort of a "I am honor-bound to watch over you" type of situation. Like a protective big sister no one asked for! Don't have much of an idea for the dude, yet. Maybe he'll be hyper pro-Au Ra ideals... whatever those happen to be? He'll be a lot less thought-out since I won't play him as often.
25. Damn, that is the perfect looking and sounding lunch right there, drink ESPECIALLY included! *jealous*
