  1. Domino will be unofficially representing NB, but officially be representing them IC so that I can make everyone look horrible!!:bomb:
  2. Hiromichi Tanaka was one of the longtime designers for FFXI and the masses hold him (myself included) responsible for the clusterfuck that was FFXIV 1.0. The best gear in the game for FFXI? It came from the first two expansion. It wouldn't be replaced for three expansions and a level-cap increase. Everything was sidegrades and situationals, and XI had a lot of flatly bad gear and decisions in it. We remember it fondly now, of course, but it was a mess back then. How put this, for the folks who didn't play XI... You needed 44,000 experience to hit the old level cap of 75. Getting 6000 exp a night, spending multiple hours in parties used to be a GOOD night. That's if you could get a party, because XI had no solo content. Monsters didn't give incremental EXP: Killing something levels below you gave you 15 or 30 exp, if it gave any at all, and that proceeded to the cap. It's not so bad when you only need 2000 exp to level and can run around whacking bees, but you stop being able to solo comfortably around level 12. I could go on and on and on. Tanaka is the battlecry of retarded design choices. Must....not....derail....thread..... I will say that a good party could get over 10k an hour if memory serves me correctly. At 75 cap you could pull in 12k+ for the thinger points (the name escapes me). I don't know much about gear though because I spent most of my life in a Scorpion Harness and Ohat, lol. Edit: Jammer Leeches, hahahahahaha. I forgot all about them! I actually almost went and redownloaded that game for that free weekend. It owns a part of my soul and will forever call out to me like a siren on the shore.
  3. I'm sort of on the fence as well. I think I'm more okay with people playing scholars, but pretty standoffish when the fairy comes into play. Finding and unlocking a fairy seems like a very rare event. As far as dragoons go I think you are fine. There are other dragoons out in the world
  4. The idea is, is there anything that is considered an equalizer to account for physical differences. Society generally goes on with the idea that women are "lower" because they are physically weaker and not as strong as men. What can be stated as the "equalizer" for females can pretty much be the same reason why Lalafell are considered just as strong and equal in battle as a Roegaydn. Or vice versa. Not every society takes that standpoint, even though women in the real world are physically weaker than men. There's at least one culture that I can think of in New Zealand that is fiercely matriarchal. I want to say that some subsets of Tibetan society are also matriarchal. And even though Chinese culture was very patriarchal, women actually ran the family unit prior to the revolution there. There are some cultures in India that are the same way. I remember doing a report on a subset of people where the child took the mothers name, the land was in the mothers name, and the child had multiple fathers. Anthropology class was fun Men are born with more skeletal muscle tissue while women usually have more adipose, so technically they are stronger than women...technically. Things start to change as the body grows older and you account for physical activities and diet. Eorzea seems to be pretty much like the society we see today. Actually a little better as women seem to be deployed to the frontlines alongside men while last I checked the American military seems to frown upon that sort of behavior. I know they still dont allow women onto submarines. All 3 branches of government seem to be held my women as well which should speak volumes about how equal the sexes are treated.
  5. Its good to know that you will be back in good health soon. I will be wishing for a speedy recovery and can't wait to have you roam around with us again.
  6. Ahahaha yes! So much yes!
  7. I always emote Denn having a deep and thunderous voice. The only voice I think comes close to it is. gey4MNgteK4 And Cyrinius of course would be... n54RJNS5aFw I originally thought of him using the more feminine voice in the later Dynasty Warrior games, but decided to deepen it up a little more.
  8. soldiers is the new myth, myth is the new philosphy. Atma is only obtained through FATEs in certain regions. You need a Zenith equipped (and the quest started) to obtain them. Its rumored that the drop rate is 3%. You need twelve.
  9. I would contact Gharen Wolfsong (I think that is his last name). I believe he was in an Ala Mhigo Resistance group. There was a plot weaved where I attacked them before >.> For Garlemald! :bomb:
  10. You just show up and ask for an Overseer! They'll almost always happily sign you on. We've got a shortage of healers. ^ Its why Denn stopped showing up. Too many broken people left in her path and not enough healers to kiss their boo boo's better.
  11. *Cough, cough* There may have been a certain bandit who tried to bring Ul'dah down to its knee's and is rumored to be an ex-Garlean. I had the same trouble of trying to measure how much chaos she would start in Ul'dah. I thought about doing newspaper articles to roll out on the RPC about the happenings of what was going on (to give people IC things to talk about in the Quicksand and stuff). I actually did end up rolling out one episodic newspaper, but then kind of lost the desire. I may be able to offer you some help as that group still runs around Thanalan causing mayhem, but they have not started much trouble with the city itself since their leader was rumored to have died as she has not been seen since being ambushed and poisoned by an opposing faction.
  12. Call me a sucker for sexy nip slips, but Andralyn looks great.
  13. Yeah, I have been watching Archeage for a few years now. Following the english community who plays on the korean server. On paper it sounds absolutely amazing, but they had lots of complaints about it. Mostly involving the pirate/criminal system and how the risk vs reward is too out balanced. I still might check it out, but for some reason I think my heart will stay in FFXIV. The Repopulation is the only game I am looking forward to >.>
  14. I see your waiting list is open :3. May I poke you for one?
  15. ^ - While I only subbed in March, I don't really care about leveling. There are two reasons I level at all: 1) RP clothes, 2) goofing off with friends. If personal housing or whatever requires level 50 then that'd be another reason, but right now most of the time when I log in I'm rping. (also yesss, yesss ,come to Limsa! Limsa is fabulous! ) You will need to be 50 because they said personal housing will require a new grand company rank. So you will need to be 50 in order to achieve that rank.
  16. Can't. The dev's described the reason why the player does not die is because they are protected by Hydaelyn. Basically every time they near death they are whisked away through the aether and back to an aetheryte. Which is why you get home pointed when you die in the game. There is no way to revive the dead in the game..sort of. Edit: As far as resurrection goes. Its just a way to keep the body there, giving them enough power to get back up instead of being whisked away. Once a person is dead, they are dead.
  17. I know exactly what you mean Ruru. When I first got into the RP scene back when Guild Wars 2 came out I had a ton of fun RPing and felling in love with it instantly. I somehow ended up getting myself into the wrong crowd though and they sucked the life out of me. I ended up quitting because not only did I not want to RP anymore, but I just didnt even want to play the game anymore (probably also because that game had nothing to do after you hit top level ). If you need someone to just hang out with and talk. I am always up for harassing talking and listening .
  18. Well all the stories I haven written so far make no mention of a name for a mother or a grandfather as I never really decided on their names so I simply never had Denn refer to them in any of her stories by their real names. Denn never met her mother so she never brings her up and her grandfather never spoke much about her so that is completely open. Those names can be really anything. The only name that is in there is Denn's father name. Ahtahrm..and its part of Denn's name...Ahtahrmwyn, Daughter of Eight Arms. Which would be extremely difficult to work around and we might not be able to pull off ; ; . As well as I have written quite a few stories with Denn's grandfather (coming to her in her dreams and childhood stuff) so he kind of already has a personality of being a strong, wise, and calm person (which might fit? Idk, you said he sealed away his dragon thing so the two personalities might fit?). Her grandfather rarely ever left Denn's side as he was her prime care taker in the constant absence of her father who would go out and do mercenary work. I figured this can be the excuse used to have the father able to keep in contact with both of his daughters. Maybe even spending more time with Lydahn as she had the heart and Denn did not? The grandfather who sealed away his Dragonheart stayed with Denn to raise her and the father spent most of his time with Lydahn to teach her how to use it? Or perhaps Denn and Lydhan were both born with the Dragonheart but because Denn is such a hot head that their grandfather's training was focused around sealing it within Denn as she would be too destructive with it. I did write her as a woman who has a very high aether (but has no idea how to use it) content and as she nears death she kind of explodes. Just throwing out ideas here . The axe thing can be worked out, I think. The reason I choose the name Eight Arms was just because he was suppose to be an extremely powerful man who was said to have the strength of four Roegadyn (hence the arms). This could possibly be even attributed to the Dragonheart. He could have simply used two giant axes in battle because he was strong enough to dual wield them, one Lydahn found and one Denn found. Or we can simply say the axe that Denn found was actually her grandfathers axe (as he has played a more important role in Denn's life) and it was on their father? Now the only weird thing I find in Lydhan's story, unrelated to us trying to work out a connection, is that Lydahn was born after the Calamity...The Calamity happened 5 years ago >.> But yeah, if things can't be worked out because we have already sort of begun the development of our characters than it is fine . Edit: Whoops, just noticed you said Lydahn was an orphan so you can scrap all that stuff about how they could have both known the father . But thinking about the whole fathers name thing, what is Lydahn's fathers name? I had Denn's grandfather as being more a traditional and conservative person who preferred to use the Roegadyn tongue (and not dumb down their names into the common language), which is why Denn has a Sea Wolf-esque name and not a Hellsguard-esque name. If you choose a Hellsguard name for Lydahns father we might be able to work something about the grandfather refusing to call him by that name which is why Denn knows him as one name and Lydahn knows him by the other?
  19. Noooo, get out of duty so I can talk to you! Well I'll just write it here. So I never noticed this post from forever ago and I realized that Denn and Lydahn have a very similar background. Denn also has a Sea Wolf mother and a Hellsguard father, but takes after her father (which is why she appears as a Hellsguard). I had it written that her mother died during child birth, but I always wanted this to not be true and she was simply told this before her mother left. Now her father was in and out of her life as he was a mercenary and was never really around to take care of her. This could be an excuse as well for having him visit Lydahn, his other child? Denn was mostly raised by her grandfather in a cabin out in the middle of nowhere in Coerthas. This is where I suppose the stories from both of our characters get wonky because her grandfather played a very large and important role in her life so he kind of has to be there. I'm not sure what you have written about Lydahn's grandfather yet. Anyway her father ended up never returning for some years and her grandfather died of old age and so Denn set out into the world. I had her recently do a story arc where she found out what happened to her father, he died while protecting a town from pieste's and was petrified in the process, so now he is just a statue. This went into Denn retrieving her fathers axe and she has been retraining as a warrior secretly (as she is only known as being a pugilist IC). Now I think I can bend some things and throw in stuff about the Dragonheart (Denn would probably not have this trait, maybe she has taken more after her mother seeing as the sea cries out to her and she secretly wants to be a pirate and not a mercenary like her father and grandfather and their fathers). I suppose the only thing I am saying is that the grandfather thing might be the hardest part to work around. If you think this can work let me know . I was trying to poke you in game about it but you and your dungeons >.o and now I have to go to work. Sorry if this is all over the place. Trying to type it up quickly as I only have like 3 mins left before I have to leave lol Edit: I suppose I should add that Denn is 28
  20. I saw you there last week..you better get away from my lady! We are suppose to be wed under Twintania's corpse. It will be a beautiful wedding
  21. I most definitely would! I prefer to have her get more cozy with people in that sort of world, but I love stories and drama more than I like IC friends . We can do something like Kink tells Denn about what is going on and either Denn goes to see what the fuss is about and ends up getting hired by the other side or And hires her first, but during the story unfolding she ends up getting swooned to the other side (like so many of her clients) as they offer to pay her more. Either one works for me ^^.
  22. Put Denn and Dog on the opposite sides of things! Roe showdown!
