omg please do this, I totally had a conversation with Vetiver about Izzy, and YES. Make this happen, you won't be disappointed. (btw another welcome back because I missed you!) missed you too. We really need to rp again, soon! Would love to have Sav meet Lyra, although I'm sure Sav should NOT be the person to teach her about the world. That could be...catastrophic. =3

Flirting techniques - inspiration and referencing
Savarah replied to C'kayah Polaali's topic in RP Discussion
Sav is really direct and nice to almost everyone (which often results in many apologies because she's not sure if she's being offensive). And that is sometimes seen as ridiculously adorable flirting. In actuality, Sav doesn't understand flirting. In that regard, she's akin to a child. So if she's doing it at all, it's completely unintentional. -
Some of you have hand-drawn likenesses. Where did you obtain them?
Savarah replied to Fotix's topic in RP Discussion
We have a lot of super talented artist-type folks here, and a lot of them do commissions (some for gil, some for real monies)! If you check out the Artisan House here, you can find a bunch, which is where I'm assuming most people got their likenesses drawn. ...I really need to do this. -
Definitely wouldn't hut to add Savarah Ardyn to the waiting list either. It's been a dreadfully boring few days and meeting new people would do just the thing I think!

Question about meeting new people and walk-up RP
Savarah replied to Havoc Snow's topic in RP Discussion
I wallflower in the Quicksand reading RP /all the time/. And I never join in either. Also, examining trick: left click on the person, right click name, left click view search info, then detarget them while you're examining. (I kinda sorta do this a lot to make it seem like I'm not creepin'). I have the same issues and I don't know how to fix them other than to just shut up and initiate. >.< -
Question about meeting new people and walk-up RP
Savarah replied to Havoc Snow's topic in RP Discussion
I'm also really terrible with new folks. Not because I'm abrasive (though I certainly can be), but simply because I'm shy around people I don't know and I was never a fan of super shallow tavern style RP that doesn't -go- anywhere. I totally agree with trying to hook up with folks from the RPC, and definitely search through people search comments when you examine them. If you're not sure, just send a /tell first. That being said, I'm more than open to expanding my horizons if you need to plan out a meeting ahead of time with a new person. Sav likes friends. ^^ -
Holy update! Hadn't touched this bad boy since /before launch/, so I made a couple changes to better reflect the new and improved Sav. Always looking to meet new folks, especially now that I'm back in action. Often seen sleeping down at the Limsa docks, occasionally working at Maelvaan's Gate, and sometimes at the Ruby Carbuncle in the Goblet. So if you're bored and want to meet a new face, don't be shy!

balmung Tiergan's Red Lotus Story Arc + FAQs
Savarah replied to Tiergan's topic in Chronicled Connections
So sorry Tier, been outta town for the week and haven't really had access to laptop. x.X Availability wise, probably late afternoon-midnight EST is when I'll be around, every day of the week. But I'll put that in the availability poll thingy to try to make it easier. Anyways, in thinking about ze 5 things... 1) Grimoire 2) Leaf 3) Chocobo 4) Aether 5) Flames Also, can detect aether, being a summoner and all. -
Sav absolutely fights for her friends. I mean, she'd definitely love to showcase her prowess in a fight for Eorzea, but she knows deep down that she's not a one man army. Her sister actually posed the question a while back: if she could only save one, would it be her tribe, or Eorzea? Sav brushed off the question, saying it would never come down to that and she doesn't deal in hypotheticals, but it's something that's stayed with her. So, ultimately, tribe wins. There's a lot of people looking out for Eorzea, but she feels obligated to protect her friends and family.

Sav is incredibly devoted to the idea of 'tribe' and 'blood'. Where blood is her immediate family (currently only in the existence of her half-sister), tribe can be /anyone/ that she becomes close to. All of her friends are her tribe, and she defends them ferociously. As for the capital L sorta love, she is currently in the process of learning what happened to her mate. She's got a small bit of hope that she's just off adventuring somewhere, but is slowly resigning herself to the fact that her mate may be (and probably is) dead. As for her half-sister, she's kind super angry and wants to kill her at this point in time. She feels that she was abandoned by her, and isn't currently recognizing her as a relation. This will probably change in the future, because Sav really wants to hold onto the only family member she has left. As for the future? Sav is a matriarch of her line, and would very much like to fulfill her duty of continuing it before she passes on. So once she gets over the pain of (very possible) loss of her mate, she'd very much want to try the serious relationship thing again. She'd just have to find someone who is willing to deal with her complete lack of knowledge of romantic/sexual relationships. -nods-

As someone who just happened on this event by chance, I am highly entertained. Shaping up to be a wonderfully profitable event, with quite an audience. ^^

Are you looking to clear, or help (either is fine): Help! I seem to be good at that. What time/day is good for you: I'm an EST player, so late afternoons- midnight works well. Every day! What time zone are you in: EST What role do you wish to take on: Mainly a healer, but also a good dps. I could tank T5 too, I've done it once or twice. What is your ilevel in the role you want to go as: I'm an i114 SCH main, but I can also BLM (i109) rather well. I could technically fill all roles with varying success. ^^ I can do anything and everything up through T9 (with the exception of Titan, my latency doesn't really allow it >.< ). I could probably get some members of my FC to help as well, especially if there's a soldiery bonus. We sell Coil on a pretty regular basis, so we can help ya through. ^^

balmung Searching for active RP partners.
Savarah replied to Quale Fennim's topic in Chronicled Connections
Sounds a lot like Sav, truth be told, and gods know she could use a new friend or two right about now. If you happen to be bored and catch a Savarah Ardyn online, don't be afraid to poke a bit~ -
Hey all, it's been a while. Will try not to give you a life story, but a few details. So I love XIV. This is a wonderful place with a lot of great, talented people. Since June of 2014, I had a great group of roleplayers who became friends that RPed /all the time/. We had a great group narrative, really close, deep interactions with each other. Quite literally the best RP I've ever had the pleasure of being included in. Once launch hit we all cut back a bit to explore gameplay. A few months pass and due to a bunch of factors, I decided to take myself out of the RP scene. I allowed my character to be kidnapped (to further a group narrative), and I left it at that, got super into PvE and Coil and endgame nonsense. Fast forward to the near present. Lo and behold, the last month or two I've /really/ been missing RP. So, with most of my old crowd either dead (old characters killed off via fantasias and name changes) or having quit XIV, I am left with 2 main connections of Sav's. While Sav is normally super happy and naive and a pleasure to be around, the effects of her kidnapping leave her incredibly hostile towards those two people. Basically, she feels abandoned and is reacting in a potentially destructive way. As you can probably tell, this personality switch is not exactly conducive to forming bonds with new people. My original plan is to just RP it out, and hope that Sav returns to her normal self after a while. But I can't help feeling left out of all the fun while I slowly work it out. What would you guys suggest? TLDR- Never stopped playing XIV, but haven't RPed in close to a year. Slowly getting back into it with my remaining 2-3 connections, but what would you guys suggest on how to get back into the swing of things?

Hi Chef! Welcome to the RPC. Please tell me you are a rather large black man with a love for teaching children the ways of life and we'll get along quite well.

Once there was a massive dork . . .(That's me)
Savarah replied to abnormalDeity's topic in Welcome Desk
I blame Gerik for that. But anyroad, welcome aboard! Hopefully I'll bump into you once I -actually- get on Balmung. ^^ -
I wish female elezen bodies actually looked like that. >_>;; I second that. They're so...disproportionate in game. Makes me a sad panda.
-
Not that I'm against your original idea, but I personally think that would be absolutely ADORABLE. But, that's a woman's input for you.
-
I am incredibly impressed by the sheer amount of detail that's gone into this. I can't imagine the time and fact checking this must've taken. I was originally going to wait until early access/launch to find my place in the world, but I may yet be swayed otherwise. Hats off to you, Sir Aldeus! :moogle: Edit: I hope my application went through. I think it did...

If I was making this character, I'd probably do something like have the character be a part of the Garlean air forces rather than being on the ground, perhaps a part of Gaius Van Baelsar's XIV legion, seeing as they were there in airships during the final battle in order to observe. Your airship could've been one from that legion that was slow to withdraw after Bahamut appeared and got caught in the blast, blowing you wildly off course, destroying the airship, and obliterating the crew, yourself being the sole exception. I really love that entire thing, but I especially like the idea of being in van Baelsar's XIV legion. That could give massive character insight into his 'actual' character, and not to mention that sounds ridiculously awesome. The yearn to escape from Garlean reign after a taste of what freedom and individuality is like could be a strong driving force for character development.

NSFW - Gerik's Sketchbook - Commissions Available!
Savarah replied to Gerik's topic in Artisan House
Share some of your drawing talent damn you! Bah I'm jealous. Nice work, good sir. -
I always liked first person. Gives more insight into personality and mannerisms and the like. As for actual backstory, I like it. Makes sense, well explained. But as for most aspiring lancers, won't we all have essentially the same tale? Dragoons seem to be almost exclusive to Ishgard, and since we can't start there we'll all have to come up with a reason to have left. And as a closed, religiously fanatic society self-exile seems to be the only way out. If I'm wrong or off base, feel free to correct me. That's just the impression I'm getting. My alt will be a Roe Dragoon and -should- I decide to use her for RP as well, I want to know my stuff.
