  1. I'm assuming it's just going to be Before the Fall story-related duty we need to clear to be able to access Ishgard come 3.0, but it's just an assumption.
  2. I didn't know "Helldiver" was actually a Final Fantasy thing, I just want to lead a squadron of Ixal into dogfights against Dravanians...
  3. While this was originally what I'd planned for Jana, down to having chosen Byregot as her guardian deity, she's become a lot more like Fire since Natalie died: Indiscriminate, seeking to spread, and prone to rhythms of blazing up followed by dying down.
  4. "What do you look so smug about?"
  5. SE has already said that the Steam version will only work with Steam sales of Heavensward, which aren't out yet. Sorry!
  6. Oh oh oh, this site is where I pre-ordered ARR from too with a similar voucher, so I'll confirm for anyone who's suspicious that Green Man is legit! (Also, preordered base edition for $32!)
  7. well boy howdy Eva: Yeah, in both threads. Jana tsuntsun strong. Basically considers Eva to be an incompetent "revolutionary" (to the point she refers to her as such to characters like Kale and Crofte when reporting to them), but a dangerous loose cannon when she gets her hands on things like Dragon artifacts. Her orders aside, Jana tries to keep an eye on Eva because she still doesn't trust her to keep an eye on herself. Askier and Delial: Jana doesn't trust them because they both happen to be around when bad things happen. It can hardly be called a "personal" dispute if she's just trying to push blame onto them because she can. Of course, there are plenty of other reasons to distrust them, but they're not really taken into account by Jana. Jameson: She barely knows him but in Jana's eyes, Taeros is just another burden Crofte has to deal with, one she can't help shoulder. Crows: She hardly hears of them anymore but knows they're around, somewhere. (Re-)Kill-on-sight. Nero: Not that Jana actually knows his name or who he really is. "Redgrave" is just a good focus point for her pent up anger and unresolved tension over Natalie's death.
  8. Change of plans, I can probably make it after all!
  9. Jana could easily be fit into 1, 3, and 4. I'm happy to fit into spare slots since my availability is always so up in the air.
  10. As much as I'd love to join one of these finally, I'm almost for sure going to have an obligation at that time. Good luck!

    Crushes!

Jana is too emotionally distant to get crushes very often; usually she'd see women (and in one instance, a man) as "would-bangs" (or "would-think-about-banging-while-alone"). That said, she's had a few before. Leanne: Very briefly after meeting through Chachanji. It had already faded by the point that they kinda-sorta clashed, though Jana still felt the need to try and set things right. Crofte: Also very briefly. Jana respects Crofte incredibly highly (maybe even blindly), but doesn't really want her in "that" way. Spahro: Largely due to the journalist having seen Jana at her absolute worst and not abandoning her. This one's still up in the air. Natalie: Prior to their brief, actual relationship, Jana warmed up to Nat over how easily the Sworn could get past her emotional defenses. Eva: haha no i was just kidding Eva's teasing vaguely reminds Jana of Nat, but the feelings end there. If anything, being reminded of Nat only makes Jana's tsuntsun stronger.
  12. It's been a super long time since we were in the same FC, but Jana would probably still be interested in seeing the K'tribe shaman magics. Maybe we could set something up?
  13. Jana lets out a small growl as she reaches the bottom of the letter... Unless it was her stomach, a likely possibility as she made the trip from Ul'dah proper to the Goblet through the Miners' Guild tunnel. "It's just so like Primrose to give herself a bunch of meaningless titles. Still, the situation is ripe for the picking... I'll have to find her at that house again."
  14. Jana's name and appearance may be very loosely Egyptian but personality-wise would be fine in any country with higher education.
  15. I always like to RP with other adventure-y types of characters, and with the people in the Roen/Nero plot that Jana's sided with. I do wish I could run into more Flames IC more often though, like Erik's group.
  16. I think the corrupted crystals in the open world (like Eastern Thanalan's Burning Wall) could make someone sick over a longer period of time, but corrupted crystals in an aether-heavier place (like in Pharos Sirius) seem more likely to just explode. As far as I know there isn't really any lore about it, but that's my observation.
  17. I'd imagine someone being seen praying to Garuda, especially in the Northern Shroud, would find themselves reported to the authorities and hunted by groups like the White Rams very quickly. It's an interesting concept OOCly, but I don't see how the character is going to see much RP in the greater community unless this worship is something that becomes a closely-guarded secret.
  18. Maybe if I didn't find anything other than combat to be a chore... I've been sitting on 100 leve allowances for months.
  19. I should probably boost more crafting at get at least 1 gatherer to 50 though.
  20. Jana's just a gloomy nerd who sits in the back of the class and doesn't talk to anyone, but still gets good grades. Probably sit by herself at lunch and such. She'd probably get A+ in stuff that's all memorization, like history. She probably wouldn't outright fail anything but something like math, which is all calculation, would probably be a weak point. And the people who'd gather to her probably want something... Who knows? Jana's response to a career counselor would be to find her a job where she doesn't have to talk to people. Maybe she can get away with something like a company's IT lady or something where she'll be surrounded by screens all day.
  21. Being an adventurer with the Echo (which is already enough for people to point and shout "overpowered!" apparently), while Jana may be on the higher end of the power spectrum among player characters, the situations she finds herself in simply don't play to her strengths that often. And when they do, something always has to be out of her control to go wrong; she's strong, not omnipotent. Natalie's death was a good wake-up call for her, since Jana assumed that a tough gal would be able to recover from the kind of injury that killed her. And while "fights gud, sucks at social situations" may be a bit overplayed, Jana's emotional hang-ups will be more than enough to limit her. With your Amalj'aa example, Jana may know she can handle most of them no problem, but being with a group of people whose capabilities she doesn't know or aren't acting confident would be enough for her to proceed more cautiously and lose her rhythm (especially after Nat's death). Doubly so because her reaction to people acting serious about beastman attacks when she tries to shrug them off is... Embarrassment over everyone around her fretting. Shouldn't she fret too? In the end, she'll fret over that. I think you've gotten a little carried away. Edvyn's complaint seems to be against the kind of player who'd have their character scatter big words into their vocabulary without knowing what they really mean, then claiming they're "smart" for it. Things like emotional intelligence, overspecialized knowledge, or street smarts don't really factor into that kind of player's portrayal of an intelligent character... Which is part of the problem too!

    On Age

Generally speaking, you both have to be over the legal age of where both parties live to be okay. If you ERPed with a 16 year old but they lived in a state where the legal age is 17, you're still breaking the law. This is why we usually go with 18, since there really aren't places where the legal age will be higher than that.
