Ohh, I used to breathe SCP Foundation during college. Gave me a lot of inspiration when I was still learning how to write myself!

18 is used because it's really the minimum "safe" age. Even states within the US all have different ages of consent, and travelers are still tied to the ones that their state applies to them (even outside of the US). It's a personal preference for me too; the AoC may be 16 in my state and 16 wherever you live, but since there's no way to be sure of where anyone I only know on the internet lives, I'll stand by 18 to keep myself and anyone I RP with out of trouble.

True, Physick has the same potency as Cure I (correct me if I'm wrong), so a WHM will cast it for the same amount of healing. You could make a case for a strong conjurer being able to use all sorts of healing magic the same way no matter what it was, even though the same would happen if the same WHM cast Ruin. But there is some point at which the gameplay and story/lore have to separate; Ruin and Physick are both sub-level 5 skills, and ACN's other cross-class skills are enhanced by a trait that only ACN gets. So you could say that these beginner skills could be used without a proper grimoire, but even level 2 Bio wouldn't be usable without one according to gameplay. Forgive me if this kind of ramble-y, it's late and I'm still quite busy.

Yes, I have my character use Physick outside of ACN IC sometimes too. But without the stats from the SCH class and its gear (including the book), it's going to heal for a negligible amount (and I RP it that way when using Physick IC too). This is already what happens when SMN casts Physick with a grimoire, and at higher levels where SCH and ACN/SMN grimoires are separated, even what's written in the books changes as well. Just because it can be done doesn't mean it can be done in a practical way and give the same results.

Maybe I'm taking too literally what should be gameplay and story segregation, but the fact that crafted grimoires use special aetherial-conducting ink makes me think that that the actual contents of the grimoire traced by the arcanist matters just as much as what exactly they're tracing on. "Freedrawing" it without this aether-conducting ink doesn't seem like it would work very well, like trying to cast other kinds of magic without a staff or wand to aid the caster. It's not clear how it would happen in FFXIV but many fictions will have the cast be either very weak, unstable, or just not work at all.

I've not been around much lately myself, but I'd be happy to set up any RP with anyone doing investigating on the Flames side of things.

No, they really don't in the United States at least. We have this thing called the first ammendment that criminalizing this would violate. As for your random fact, it's because virtual images have since been criminalized, but not written words, no one is talking about images here. As someone who's spoken with localizers before, I'm afraid I have to say that you're wrong on this one. Character ages do often get changed to over 18 before a work featuring, say, high school girls can be officially released in the US.

If you're not going to transfer your Lv10 GLD, you could pick a class that starts in Limsa or Gridania to see more of the early level story that changes on your starting area.

This, exactly. It's not the same as RPing while using the Curtana or the Azure Dragoon soulstone.

I'm at work... I'm supposed to go to a party tonight but I'm not even going to get to drink because I need to drive myself home at 4 AM. The ordeal of making the trip downtown to work 2 of the six hours I was assigned really made this the worst holiday in recent memory.

Finally free to roam the halls of "her" house once more, Jana came upon a plate of cookies on a table, a small mask, and a note. "Isn't this a Garlean mask...?" she muttered to herself as the Keeper took a cookie off of the plate without reading the note and popped it into her mouth. This was immediately followed by coughing and hacking, and a half-chewed cookie sailing across the room. Ugh- Who made this cookie so bitter? Is this supposed to be a prank!? Two seconds passed before she guiltily retrieved the soggy cookie to be properly disposed of, though Jana made no effort to get rid of the plate as she left for the city.

I'm going to get my action game fix in the little time I have free during the early work week so I'm fresh for FFXIV's slower gameplay later.

I'll usually put on music to "set the mood" when I'm writing, but I use the in-game music for everything else. I have a nice, long playlist of scenic stuff. EO music is good too.

I'm totally down for IC primal fights, but this early in the day isn't good for me, even if it is a Sunday. I work part-time on whatever hours I'm given and my home situation doesn't leave me a lot of predictable free time before evenings.

Now I wonder if it will be a Musketeer class using the guild in Limsa with an Engineer healing job and an Agent DPS job. I don't really know about Final Fantasy as a series so I'm just guessing based on the little I know and have read in here, though.

I don't write my regular RP with any one kind of tone, since I let the flow of RP determine a lot of what happens with Jana. Sometimes she'll end up in comedic situations, sometimes darker ones. What I can can talk about more is fight scenes. I actually value fight choreography pretty highly, so describing every strike or thrown punch to give a clear picture of just what my character is doing is very important to me, as a writer. Even when a weapon isn't drawn, simply describing footwork or body motion is still great for painting a picture of how the character is moving in a fight. While "anime" may be what comes to mind, not every action anime can say that is has good fight choreography, so I'll just post this scene to show what kind of motions I want my character to be able to use in RP, and what I'm hoping to show to other people when she fights.

If you need it, I could add my name as a general DPS then, maybe potentially as a tank but my iLv as one is much lower.
