Yo, yo! I'm here today to introduce my new OC, Arus Kajah! I'm looking for some fresh new connections to write with so I figured I'd advertise here as well. It's still a big WIP since I want to add a lot more to it, but it gets to the basics. What I'm seeking: - Long term plots - Potential connections for Arus - Even one shot/short term things! Quick Overview: Arus in a nutshell is typically arrogant, but has gained that trait through his vast success and knowledge in the world of trade. Sometimes he does weaponize his charm, but only if it'll get him a good deal or a business relationship. In regards to that he generally searches for rare commodities tucked away in the eldest of dungeons or things most deem sacred and sells them for high profits. If he can get his hands on it, it will be turned to coin. Some hooks & plot points: Merchant; Lover of trade - Looking for a specific item or need assistance getting one? Arus will certainly help out, for a price! Both sides of the coin - Arus is skilled in both sides of the market; underground and those with more wholesome views of trade. Wanted? - Arus can be found smiling on all sorts of wanted boards across the star. He mostly thinks they exist out of spite and envy. Ablaze - Arus loves to play with fire in both senses of the term. He's still getting a grasp on it, but the rune tattoos have been helping a lot. My schedule can be kind of wild since I raid and stream most of the week, but we can totally work something out. Hiya! I'm Data Roxas! I'm on the Primal Datacenter, Excalibur to be exact. But I'm thinking of making an alt on Crystal! I have a decade's worth of experience in roleplaying on forums, but exactly none in chats or games. So this will be a new venture for me! I intend to make a female viera - but then fantasia into a male viera when Endwalker comes out! The only downside of making an alt is that i'll have none of my MSQ progress, mounts, emotes, or anything (since I can't afford that kinda stuff otherwise. Money is always tight.) A few further elaborate on the woman’s chronic forgetfulness, tattered red dress, quizzical nature and apparent fondness for games. Intermingled, several dubious and most often inebriated individuals swear to have overheard cursing, hissing and angry tirades from an old tome of all things. Hooks Wandering amnesiac - The vacuous Viera appears to have forgotten most of her own past and enjoys travelling Eorzea seeking new experiences, places and people to fill in the blanks. Not only to regain understanding but to find and piece together her old memories, mind jogged by familiar sensations. Largely rather rattled, the Viera proves frequently forgetful and prone to getting lost. Affably inquisitive - The impressionable Viera has an insatiable hunger for learning, quizzical by nature, eager to question and comprehend people and make friends and acquaintances where she can. Usual haunts - Fond of games of chance, dexterity and wit (though largely abysmal at all three) the clumsy Viera often finds herself drawn to the taverns and inns where she can indulge in or observe these. Libraries, bookshops, reading rooms and other places where tomes are in abundance similarly fascinate the Viera. Flower shops, gardens and other places with an abundance of flora and fauna similarly appear to bring her great joy. Not infrequently found on her way from one of the above in search of the next. A need for coin - The impoverished Viera rarely appears to have much in the way of abundance when it comes to gil. Though not the most immediately employable sort, she occasionally regains enough lucidity to look for methods to acquire those shiny, shiny coins. After all, the books she craves are rarely free! An inconspicuous-looking journal - Bound shut with a leather belt, a worn old journal accompanies the shuffling Viera wherever she goes. On occasion seen twitching of its own accord and on rarer occasions still, the tome can be overheard squawking all manner of insults and angrily flapping its yellowing pages. Those with the ability to sense or see aether may be able to spot that the book practically hums with magic. What I can offer: A 21+ player enthusiastic about roleplay, character development, interesting stories and plots with a willingness to improve/grow. Versatility - I enjoy light-hearted and more serious roleplay and all manner of character relationships - friends, rivals, enemies, associates ect ect. IC conflict and struggle are as much the spice that keeps the metaphorical RP soup tasty as the good times are! I enjoy one-on-one roleplay and group roleplay both! Activity - I'm quite active online and play FFXIV frequently and my hunger for roleplay is such that most days I feel up to it. Communication - I am a relatively shy person OOCly, but I enjoy talking about and discussing rp and brainstorming, it can be a lot of fun! What I would like: Patience - I am new-ish to FFXIV rp (though not MMO RP in general) and will probably make some mistakes. It's been quite some time since I have played FFXIV so I am not really familiar with anything after the base game and have some lore questions I can't seem the answers to in the wiki's. Question 1: Are Viera welcomed in RP? The lore mentioned that they are banished from their homeland if they ever leave, so are they to rare to be considered seriously in Eorzea? Question 2: If Viera are fine for RP, is there anyway that she could be practicing astrology? Or would that be pushing it due to the Sharlayan's frowing upon teaching outsiders? Question 3: If there is no way a Viera could be an astrologian if following the lore, what races could be considered Sharlayan I could play? Or is astrology frowned upon like white and black mages are? Thanks in advance for the help! ^-^ Hopefully those questions make enough sense....lol

Hey everyone, you can call me Freyja. I'm a returning player to FFXIV. I've been a roleplayer for 16 years now (tabletop, LARP, forums, etc.) and have wanted to get into MMO/FFXIV roleplay for a while now, but have only just decided to take the plunge. I have a tribal-style Viera that I am actively looking for contacts for. I am looking for all types of RP, so I am really open to the surprises that may come my way. My character is fairly calm and down to earth. She only hunts and tracks given a good purpose as she still recognizes the green word to some extent. While she has a tribal flare, I have tried very hard to make sure she still has a sense of refinement and a feminine feel. So! I have been thinking about viera ears for a while. When viera were first released I didn't care that they couldn't wear many hats/hoods because just think of the difficulty of getting them on or how big the holes would have to be. I had thought about how their ears may get cold. Everyone else can wear earmuffs/hats/hoods to keep their ears warm. And then an idea came.. Ear Socks. Its exactly how it sounds. Socks but for ears. I personally think it would be awesome. This was all a while ago that I was thinking about that, but today my mind went back to viera ears. On the game the ears look stiff and don't move at all. That could bring one to forget that rabbit ears are flexible and can move. I know I forgot. So.. I'm wondering. Are viera ears as flexible as a real rabbit's ears? I personally would like to think so because in terms of rp that could give your character so much more expression just like cat ears do for m'qote. What do you guys think? Should viera ears mimic a rabbit's or should they be stiffer than a rabbit's?

Disclaimer: I'm pretty new to these forums and I'm not entirely sure what the consensus here on in-game spoilers are, older content or otherwise, but I figure anyone who's reading this and has suggestions on improving the character concept detailed below is already pretty up-to-date on main scenario events. Needless to say, there are a couple spoilers for A Realm Reborn and Stormblood here, but I'll likely remove this disclaimer if that's not an issue. Hey-hey, everyone! I've yet to formally introduce myself here on the forums, but I'm a fairly new player who's been completely engrossed in Final Fantasy XIV for about six months now, and I've been looking to dip my toes into the world of FFXIV roleplay at some point! Although I'm not the biggest roleplayer out there, I do have some past experience with RP in other previous long-time MMO outings such as World of Warcraft and Guild Wars 2, and let me just say that the community in FFXIV is one of the frendliest and most helpful I've ever had the pleasure of being a part of in an online experience! Ever since I started playing, I've been going out of my way to complete every in-game quest available, and I do mean EVERY quest - I've made it a personal mission to level every job to 80. I almost never skip cutscenes or quest dialogue, just so I can learn about the world of Eorzea to simultaneously get myself acquainted and up-to-date with the game's rich history. Since I'm a sucker for character customization in MMOs, many of my RP-centric characters have often been made in mind with a specific look and appearance first, then coming up with their personalities, affiliations and goals/desires, and finally doing lots of research and reading up on lore to ensure that everything about their backstory checks out, often adding a touch of a humor to it all to make for a fun and interesting character. Originally, my first planned RP character for FFXIV was going to be a lifelike Allagan construct who was secretly created for the sole purpose of destroying (or re-containing) Bahamut, only to end up being reactivated five years too late and lacking any sort of true purpose in a post-Calamity Eorzea. Ultimately, I decided against it for risk of it being deemed too Mary-Sueish. My second concept was an incognito Teledji Adeleji who had been rebuilt with magitek from the ground-up (or rather, from the waist-down), utilizing those weird Wolfseye/Wolfliege boots that turn you into Aegis from Blazblue for some inexplicable reason. Obviously, the idea of taking a pre-existing NPC and roleplaying as them for the sake of a quick jab at his unfortunate demise wouldn't be all too popular with the RP community at large. And so, struggling to come up with a fun, interesting or unique concept, I went back to the drawing board and decided to glance over countless character and glamour screenshots for possible character ideas. Inspired by a handful of images of how the seasonal Werewolf Ears look on the new races introduced in Shadowbringers, as well as the Mega Mog Station sale currently ongoing at the time of writing this, I decided my first dive into the world of Eorzean roleplay would be the concept of a Viera/Miqo'te half-breed. Often times, I hate leaving how a character actually looks up to one's imagination or some detailed in-game description, given certain limitations of the character creator (features such as body piercings, facial markings and unique or otherwise unobtainable hair styles and skin colors come to mind), and I only ever incorporate features like these into a character's design when I can actually achieve the desired look in-game. The Werewolf Ears will certainly help this specific concept become a reality, and I can't wait to put it into action. As of writing this, I've yet to make her into an official character proper, but I have a good chunk of her concept and design already planned out. Personality-wise, she's somewhat stern and a bit of a tomboy, due in part to a rough childhood and her desire to prove herself and rise above her half-breed status. She's also scrappy, rambunctious and impatient, willing to help others but only doing so as quick as humanly possible. She's often the first one to join the fight and the first one to leave it. This, of course, would be justified out-of-character by trying to speed through as much in-game content as I possibly can. (I've already seen nearly everything the game has to offer story-wise, but I'm not sure I want to watch it all a second time!) Age-wise, she would definitely be on the younger side, in about her early 20s. As for her appearance, most half-breed NPCs in FFXIV often tend to inherit their mother's race and their father's prominent racial features. As such, I plan for her to be a Veena Viera with grey skin and facial markings similar to those of her Keeper Mi'qote father (at least, to the best of my abilities). And, of course, her most prominent feature - her distinctive, cat-like ears portrayed by the aforementioned Werewolf Ears - often makes her liable to turn heads. As a subversion of - or possibly in spite of - the fact that most Viera characters often wear more revealing armor and clothing (for... a number of reasons), I plan to have her prefer wearing thick, protective light armor that covers the near entirety of her body, barring her head and ears; actons, halfrobes and armor such as the Filibuster/Royal Volunteer dungeon sets come to mind here. Of course, I still have a couple holes in her concept backstory that I'm looking to fill, to avoid any part of it conflicting with preexisting lore. And so I turn to you guys for assistance in the matter: 1.) Should her parents be a part of the Dalmascan Resistance? I don't recall seeing a single Mi'qote among those in the resistance during the Ivalice questline, in Echo-induced flashbacks or otherwise, and I know Mi'qote are a bit of a rarity in Othard. However, I definitely feel like it would give some credence to her appearance and attitude; I imagine her parents telling her to "run away from them as fast as you can" being the source of her incessant haste, as well as giving the character another tragic layer to an already rough upbringing. 2.) How common are half-breed characters in the RP community? I take it a good majority of these characters face discrimination on a frequent basis, or go to great lengths to hide their status as a half-breed. Also, I don't plan on marrying her off anytime soon, but I would assume most half-breeds are inherently sterile. 3.) As both a Viera and a Mi'qote, would she refer to the Echo as such, or as the Mist? Would she interchange the two depending on whether or not she's conversing with other Viera? I'm looking for a long term rp partner interested in a slow burn, enemies to lovers romance rp. By enemies I'm not referring to a romeo and juliet type thing. I mean more of a situation where the characters don't like each other at all but are thrown together in a situation where they have to work together. She will speak her mind, though, when she feels her opinion is needed. Reijna was born in Fanow and raised there. Most of her life she spent dreaming of leaving the forest but never really pursued that dream until one day when she came across a traveler trespassing in the woods. As Reijna wasn't on patrol or hunting, she was alone. She thought about alerting the others, but for some reason thought better of it. She approached the traveler and spoke with them. Turns out they were just lost. They spoke for a time until such a time as the traveler had to get going. The encounter left it's mark on Reijna and after some time she decided it was time to go. There was a small fight with her family, but after some convincing they allowed her to go without much hassle. And so Reijna began her journey. The story here is left vague in case I find someone who wants to RP that part of her story.

Viera is coming and I'm looking for someone to teach her how to be an upstanding citizen! Personality traits: -impulsive, aggressive, prideful, ignorant +determined, playful --- She's a young Rava Viera, who impulsively left her Wood in order to explore the world outside. After months of travelling and stowing away in carriages, the girl has found herself in The Black Shroud. Naturally drawn to it's setting, she's taken refuge near Bentbranch Meadows, near the Guardian Tree. "Velelu" has no idea what Eorzea is like, as far as customs and what's expected of her, as she's completely fresh. She isn't even familiar with the other races. This is not a "one and done" RP. Once their relationship is established, she will most likely want to cling to your character at every waking second if able, until she's able to confidently interact on her own. I have a friend who recently really wants to get into the game and roleplay. She recently heard that the Viera race was at least being considered by Yoshida as playable. She contemplated making one for roleplay with the intent to change over avatars if it ever was added. I suppose the question here is, knowing that Yoshi is at least considering it, how do you feel about people playing non-playable races in the game. Of course, this is assuming the person does a decent job at portraying the racial tendencies and good research; how would you feel as fellow roleplayers? Would that be someone you'd be okay with roleplaying with/interacting with on a blog; or are you adverse to seeing something like that and would rather keep your distance? All opinions are appreciated!
