“It is not. It is a….” Khadai paused, as if struggling to find the right word. “It is a wish, of sorts.”

Fictional scene where I imagined that K’nahli was searching for a pink seashell to offer her sister K’mih as a gift to try and mend the tensions K’nahli herself has caused between them, only to, instead, find one with a very pretty shade of ashen and white that reminds her of K’rahto - a frustratingly, intriguing tia from her tribe.
