The Haul: What did you get for Christmas?

Recommended Posts

Holidays with my family have quickly become subdued as we've all gotten older.

I think the biggest gift for me was just hanging out with them for an evening and then getting up for a big ol' family breakfast (at noon because Mom wanted to make all the things).

As for actual gifts, let's see...

- Cash monies.

- Cookies and a bag of Kit Kats.

- A mug with a little kicking snowman what kicks marshmallows.

I never know what I want for the holidays for the most part, so it's basically devolved into cash, food, and (usually) a joke gift.

My gaming rig itself. FFXIV. (these were early gifts), Drakengard 3, FFX/X-2 HD, Jak and Daxter collection, a PS3, bunch of harvest moon and rune factory games, Bravely Default, etc. I got more then I can REALLY count here. Oh, and Smash Bros on 3ds, Wii U, and a few Amiibo figures too.

Oh my goodness, I LOVE the Jak and Daxter games! Haven't played them in years! Wish the collection was on ps4, our ps3 is broken. :(

I got a new bag for carrying about on errands, a giftcard to my usual lingerie store (praise the lord, anything else would have been embarrassing) and some money.

I wasn't really in the spirit this year. It gets very hard when a family member is fighting a losing battle against the big C. My brother learned the hard way why you have to wish different things from different people - He got like.. SO many pairs of soccer socks.

I mostly just groaned under a blanket feeling off.

Was away from all family this year. I did have an old Kingdom of Loathing friend send me 4 boxes of Cookie Crisp (not in Canada) and Destiny. Sadly, we haven't been able to play with the PSN outage. Of course, I can't play FFXIV either, so I was rather alone. Most unfortunate.

We need more details!!!

Well, I've always felt more comfortable with my mouth, and I needed to practice more- It's a book of funny Victorian pictures with cutout sections that you put your hands underneath to make them LEWD. Something like the creases of your fingers making a man's bare butt in the picture or parted legs, that kind of thing.

I received:

  • 2 pairs of jammie bottoms, +3 to snugness
  • Gift card for a mani-pedi at this fantastic men's spa in town
  • Spiced macadamia nuts
  • Peppermint bark
  • The new Chris Hadfield book
  • "William Shakespear's Star Wars Trilogy"

Amazon FireTV

And amusingly, the other Christmas gift is the completion of my project at work (HBO GO for the FireTV), making it so that I don't have to work with Amazon and the FireTV folks ever again! :D

I saw "Naughty Victorian" and all I could think of was some really raunchy Steampunk porn.

Gears where gears shouldn't be. So pretty much on par with the majority of Steampunk stuff.

I got some books- one on Elizabeth York, A fiction piece on an asian-american courtesan, and a piece on women who broke conventions through history.

Some clothes, some socks, and a lot of bath salts to help me with my legs.

A hair kit to help style my 'hawk easier.

Chocolates, a pot for making my lattes, and trinkets.

My history of christmas's have been... Uhm... To say the least, memorable in not the best ways.

I keep having emotional bubbles pop now that I spend them with my super lovely in-laws, and I just feel really lucky. And loved. And it's cliche, but that's a pretty awesome gift.

My grandmother's birthday is Christmas Eve so we always get to spend the night with the family at a super nice restaurant with REALLY good food. SO there was that. Got to stay up all night talking with my bother who I love but never get to see.

As for stuff stuff, I got a fitbit, lots of cash, a couple mugs, makeup, a few books, a Pop! Groot bobble head, Borderlands the Pre-sequel, a Boba Fett shoulder bag (which aahh love), baking things, and a sh*t ton of tea stuff!

It was a lovely year all around.

Christmas was pretty nice this year, I usually get depressed because I miss my mom and dad but I hung out with the rest of my family. =)

Got the gift of cash from most family members. Got lots of YUMMY foods! Fiance got my favorite gifts though lol, Sims 4 and a Platinum ffxiv wedding proposal! (haven't come up with a date, we're in process of moving around IRL)  and hooked me up with several game subs we both play!

I bought myself a solar powered lantern, had a blackout a few months ago and I was the only one here and I could barely sleep because I don't like it pitch black but I didn't want to sleep with candles lit lol. Yeah I'm a chicken... xD

Yay for the work thing, but also reading that you said 'jammies' made me gigglesnort.

I didn't get too much this year, but what I did get were pretty big purchases. My husband bought me a PS Vita and Final Fantasy X/X-2, and he's got a beautiful butterfly necklace still in the jewelry layaway for me until his next paycheck.

My mother in law was also kind enough to give me $25, which I've currently spent on more figures for my kid's Disney Infinity game (anyone here play that? We've got it on PS4, and I'd be willing to exchange PSN names in PMs ^^). I was pretty disappointed that my Gamestop didn't have any cases or ANYTHING for my Vita :( so I just bought the figures instead.

Also, apparently my mom is sending up an Amazon giftcard when she gets the chance. So not much, but really NICE stuff that I'm super appreciative to have.

I'm late to the party, but I received a waffle maker, chapstick, a portable cup, a stained glass necklace,  forty dollars, Skyrim (from a great guy) and some monetary help with these Doc Martens I've been wanting for a long time.

I may have been a little spoiled this Christmas.
