In RP, I rarely use job names. I'll use "healer" for WHM/SCH folks and "mage" for BLM, that sort of thing. DRGs are all "lancers" .. if in doubt, I pull the class name. >_>

Heck no, one of the people in my static use PS4. He just uses his laptop or phone for VOIP programs.

I had someone approach me about this situation when they did the MSQ. They wondered how I would handle it, being as my character is a snowflake who has the Echo ICly. A hold over from my ignorance in 1.0 (using the intro to Ul'dah which turned out to be an Echo experience in her history, fighting primals IC), she HAD to have it. I had to clarify to the person in question that my character, while having the Echo and being an original Warrior of Light timewarper, is not THE Warrior of Light from the MSQ. Never had Hydaelyn's Light blessing, never met Midgarskdjfsa. Would be unaffected even if he was taking the Echo from the WoL. When I went through the MSQ, it never even occurred to me that it'd be a problem anyway. The Echo and the Light/Crystal blessing are two different things to me, and apparently from reading this thread that's correct. The Echo grants primal immunity, and language understanding, etc. In 1.0 there were varying degrees of strength of Echo, which as people have noticed must be a retcon now - in 1.0 Minfilia had it and it was much weaker than your own, as she did not understand the Sylphs. It is probably from Hydaelyn - maybe being tempered by Her? Unsure still! Either way, the Blessing of Light that she bestows as you collect the crystals for her in the 2.0 MSQ makes you THE Warrior of Light - who is also an adventurer who has the Echo. Many adventurers have it, after all. So Midsgarskdjfds took that Blessing of Light, however since you are still able to understand the Ascian, the Echo is still in tact. Primal immunity should also still be in tact. It did get a little confusing, though, what with having the mysterious Echo and being Hydaelyn's chosen warrior.. >>

Those tanks that want me to wait until they shield lob+Flash+combo before I touch the mobs. Nah really those bards that rip hate off you doing that are just dumb. I pop all my CDs immediately when I go, but the way I weave it with normal attacks and you know, QUELLING STRIKES, I usually don't rip unless the tank isn't actively trying to hold. ^ Quelling Strikes is very important. As BRD I don't start burning on Lobahawk alone, but I don't wait for a rotation either. Cuz honestly with some tanks that may never come. Once I see mobs turn red, I'm burning full tilt (with Quelling). Damage needs to be done eventually and unfortunately some tanks just never do grab aggro sufficiently. Was doing the new dungeons as BRD today to get glamour and a couple of the tanks still didn't seem to understand the importance of hate generation. I mean, I don't mind tanking a few mobs as BRD, especially when I know my healer, but IDK maybe I'm crazy here but I don't think I should have to at that level? Overpower, Overpower /all/ the things BUT YOU HAVE TO POSITION FOR OVERPOWER AND I GET YELLED AT IF I SHOOT IT BEFORE THE OVERPOWER GOES OFF. ;-;

I finally got through to them all so now I have a nice little list on my Links page to click through. ^^ (That said, if anyone doesn't want their link there, just poke me and I'll remove it. It's for my convenience more than anything since I fail at bookmarking. >>) Like some have said, the real enjoyment many get from journaling IC seems to be just getting into their character's head. Another reason I like it personally is it helps me remember what has happened in RP. Especially when there is a lot going on! I try not to make the journals simply documenting things, of course, as that can feel boring to me, but its still very useful! But why do we share them? Why not keep them to ourselves? Hmm. I guess I just like the idea that someone could be reading it. Even if they aren't! Meta gaming is a risk with journaling (as can be a revealing wiki), however it's easy to simply say [wait, you can't know that, we've never talked about it], but I usually trust folks to know not to meta. Looking forward to some reading :3 Anyone else, feel free to share more~

Yes you should! And you should link me so I can read it! There's nothing wrong with journaling via a thread here or on a guild site - I just am hoping to get a collection of journals I can visit and follow and enjoy reading. ^^

Aysun narrowed her eyes, reading the article. Originally interested due to the locale, the information that followed seemed only to confuse and disgust her. She stopped more than once with a look that screamed embarrassment - for the writer, for the subject, for her kind. The paper went into a bin with a flourish.
