A lore book being done by the lore team is outside of the realm of novels done by contracted authors. It might throw off RP, but I expect it to clarify a lot of things we just don't know: Who the Heaven's Ward are, and those kind of things. Yeah i worded that wrongly. now comes my issue with lore books... Will it screw up a ton of our RPs or will it end up being Non-cannon like the wow RPG book that people use to base RP on until they clearly said that the WoW RPG books were NOT CANNON?

Well RPing is much like writing, and sometimes you need to take a break. Getting back into RP depends on the length of time and what not. One method I do when I am gone from RP is to ask any and all my Friends about current events that changed their character and get a good lead. If you are returning to find your rp FC or friend circle is no more, you should reach out to the events posted around the forums. Especially Grindstone! Another method is to just start walking up and RPing with others or attract them with your character. It is not always guaranteed but it gives more opions on what your characters can get involved with. And one more way to get back into rp that I do is read stories, profiles and even listen to some music to get the creation brain running. I've been RPing for a while and getting back into rp in an MMO is far easier than a forum in my opinion. Hope something helped there :3 P.S: if you want to make your character engaging...don't over think it. You could stress yourself out over the minute details.

When you make a villain the root of all evil for each of your characters and having them have a personal reason to kill da big badz...

[align=center]Day XX Year 872 Sixth Astral Era[/align] I feel a salty air brush against my ears...and they feel longer than normal. My eyes open and it appears that I am now just a head. Yet i am not. I clearly feel my legs...and arms...and they are short. That is when I realized, that i became some sort of creature. I tried contacting the person who held my tome, but she doesn't understand me. Was i speaking a foreign language to her? I can still speak, i can eat if i try though i do not need to anymore, and eating elemental crystals (while nasty) does fill me faster than normal food before. Doubtful. They want to populate existing servers rather than encourage people to migrate away. It's much more cost efficient to spread numbers around. And while I think they should consider server merges, it's horrible PR. The unfortunate fact is RP doesn't matter to Square. They look at Balmung not as a RP hud, but just another large server. There isn't a reason to expand it anymore than expanding Gilgamesh because it's the unofficial raid server these days. That, and I'm too much a cynic to deny they're not complaining over the transfer fees we all pay to get our RP fixes. >.> Honestly they're more likely to just separate Gilgamesh and Balmung into different data centers than they are to expand servers. As you said, they want people to populate the existing servers. Not to mention how horribly fucked up Aether Data Center gets when -everyone- is wanting to play. *cough*Heavensward launch*cough* The thing is, no one really wants to be the pioneer. If someone is going to move they're more likely to want to move to a place with things established. I know the tech they have is different but what wow did to bandaid the issue of imbalanced servers were to link them together sort of through "Cross realm" but many hate Cross realm simply because it killed a community even more so than battlegroups back in a patch before BC To solve the server population via expanding, they would have to go the SWTOR route and kill the least populated servers while forcing those on killed servers to migrate to med pop servers. Thhat would probably be the only way to do that. But there is never a way that solved the issues. In fact, some players (Weirdly enough) like being on empty servers as much as people who enjoy heavy pop. I doubt we will see anything server changing till 5.0 IMO

To be honest, as much as people say immersion will be broken by the motorcycle, FF14 2.0 has started this trend of incorporating past FF games into the realm for armor design to weapons. I mean, try to explain to someone how the boomerange thingy from ff13 (Sorry i hate the game, didn't bother to learn the name of weapons) can turn into a holo book? I welcomed the idea that it would bring about multiple FF games into one setting. Not just through renaming but the actual characters and what not. I mean i giggled at the second Gilgamesh fight with Enkidu (how he looked back in Ff5) and the original music playing before the second phase. I rather loved Ultros sub line for Hildibrand (speaking of...WE NEED MORE HILDIBRAND!) and the reward for subbing costumes so far got me gitty. I mean for crying out loud, Arala wears the Warrior of Light armor for a reason.. I love it's design from the artwork and seeing an actual Ingame version i can wear on my toon being official makes me pray they will also release a Paladin Cecil attire. I would have a major hard on when and if they announce Cecil Paladin attire. Then again I come from WoW where people ride around on giant death mechs powered by demons from space...and in Legion said demons will have Space Ship Cruisers. Wait about 2-3 more years of this game and the insanity/stupidity meter will go through the roof on what will be allowed. Soon enough we might even have some odd caster gear mimicking Gogo from FF6 or Cid's attire from FF7 for Dragoons. Now this is not going to break my immersion. I can see people already claiming that it was a Garlean prototype they stole or they fashioned it out of parts but hated making something that walked and wanted something that rolled.
