  1. Back on WoW EU, ''Mature'' was literally just another way to say ERP. So when I first came to Balmung and inspected a lot of people I was like; ''Woah, so many ERP'ers here!'' Generally none of these terms mean anything to me. They were used back on WoW in the old days, but after like.. 2010? Nobody used them anymore. They become a laughing joke really, especially the term ''Heavy Roleplayer''. It basically just meant a roleplayer that does not break character at any give moment. No OOC chat in public channels, no times-skipping with OOC teleports and all that. Responding to every approach IC and adhere to the lore of whatever universe you were playing in. It's not something many people can or want to do, hence why the ''HevRP'' joke become so popular. In my opinion nobody is a real Heavy Roleplayer in any MMO I've ever played. Not doing weird OOC things during RP and following the lore of a game/keep common sense where lore is unavailable, is pretty much self-explanatory really. To me you're either a roleplayer, or you're not. There's nothing in between in my books!
  2. Maariya doesn't worship just one specific deity, but instead quite openly boasts that she pays her respect to all Twelve and is haughty enough to dub herself a servant to them. She prays to different gods depending on the situation and what it is she wants. She actually believes to have been blessed by them and shouts quite some pious nonsense in battles as well.
  3. Here I got some random silly OOC moment, messing around with animations.
  4. We've never met, but it is always sad to see a roleplayer go! I wish you the best and hope that someday you'll be back!
  5. Did somebody say Knight!? I will find you and I shall RP with you!
  6. Hey there fellow timezone Miqo'te! I'd be up to meet sometime and get some RP started. And to also be a little shameless, I am currently part of the Kindred, which is an EU based Adventurer/Mercenary company! Should you wish to take a peek, you can do so , but you could just poke me directly for questions!
  7. I have a studious alt that would get along with other magic users! Sadly, I do not have a lot of time to play her. Pfft, and if you think there's a lack of Mages, try to imagine how I feel about Paladins or otherwise knightly characters! I only meet people that are any of the things you mentioned, scoundrels and well... MAGES!
  8. Welcome to Balmung! Feel free to contact me for RP sometime! We have the same timezone it seems!
  9. Yea, I think I read the same thing once, but it does work. New people still transfer almost daily it seems. Myself transferred a whole list of alts over just about two months ago. And you choose a server destination for your characters before you pay for the transfer, so I wouldn't worry that you pay for nothing.
  10. Sounds like you need a glorious Paladin in your life. Let's meet sometime!
  11. Welcome to Balmung fellow EU player! There are several Free Companies that do their things during EU hours! I'm in one myself!
  12. I'm EU, and I'd love to RP sometimes! Currently I tend to be mostly in and around Ul'dah!

    Greetings!

Welcome to Balmung! I like that timezone tag on your profile! Hope to meet you sometime soon!
  14. I am GMT+1 myself, but I fear I am on Balmung also! It's a bit of an expense to transfer, but you can transfer multiple characters at once for 1 payment and I can say it's definitely worth it if you like FF roleplay. Heck, I'm in an entire FC of primarily EU people.
  15. If I see someone who is clearly IC and in a public or open space I will approach them without warning should I wish it. Where I come from we don't do it any other way and it feels weird to me that I would need to ask OOC permission to RP with someone. Doesn't mean I never have any OOC communication, and I obviously wouldn't just intrude if it is an event. But random RP? They'll have to deal with my character IC! I'm just gonna say it regardless of how stuck-up it sounds. If you don't want to be approached by strangers, don't RP in a public area such as a tavern! Maybe that is strange to some people, but I am from the EU and I don't know a single EU player with the mindset that you have to whisper/tell first in any MMO I have ever played.
  16. Welcome Asah! Hope you'll have fun and see you around in game!
  17. Welcome! I like that timezone tag! Looking forward to meet you someday!
  18. Hello fellow EU player! I'd love to meet some more fellow Miqo'te, especially those playing during the same hours! I'll try to contact you sometime soon!
  19. I always worry about my grammar and sentence structure. IMO I find myself having a very limited vocabulary, always ending up making the exact same emotes just to not appear like some effortless one-sentence at a time person. (Which sometimes can't be helped as I RP deep in the night and I am tired!) Progression is another thing I worry about a lot. The above statement regarding my playtime having some say in that. Being an EU player often makes it difficult to regularly interact with people I meet if I am expected at school the very next day. Likewise, so far I've met dozens of people on my main character and she has made many, many acquaintances. But no RP I seem to engage in is consistent. People I meet once, I barely ever see again because they are either busy with their own FC, friends or whatever reason, so most of those acquaintances never become actual friends IC, or OOC, which often makes me believe I am doing something wrong, as my character is not interesting enough for people to want to interact with. Lastly I also often worry I'm a bit of a stuck-up elitist who is far too picky. I generally RP with anyone and I don't discriminate towards any specific character concept unless it is just outright ridiculous, but I can be a bit nitpicky when it comes to dedication. And by that I mean, I don't really feel like putting effort into someone who barely puts effort into their own character. For example, there have been some characters who grew to have some sort of interest in my character, which is great! I'm not one to turn away a potential romantic story. But if that person only plays once in a blue moon and doesn't really expose their characters to any development, I kinda just don't want to. Their characters quickly grow stale and boring, because they never do anything with their character's life's and only log in to interact with me. I'd rather safe such a spot for someone who can first love their own character and is also able to play remotely regularly during my hours! It sounds really arrogant, but I just can't help it.
  20. My new Raen alt would love to meet another refugee! I'll try to find you sometime soon.
  21. Hello everyone! I completely re-did one of my alts and created Yoshirou Ishiku. I've always liked the Doma stuff and I like the Raen, so why not make one a Ninja!? I am still in the process of fleshing out the character, as I have a habit of doing that along the way. I am however, looking for more contacts that can RP with this character. Yoshirou is a middle-aged Raen male that obviously comes from Othard and likely from Doma, or one of the villages surrounding it. He can occasionally be quite a solitary type and it might take a while for him to really open up and talk, but on the surface he is a gentle character. He will be an actual Ninja/Shinobi, but thus far nobody has knowledge of that fact, and I am unsure how I am going to implement that in my roleplay. My character is currently only lvl 40, so I still have a lot of story to see. Would love to hear from someone soon with advice or just for RP! My timezone is GMT+1, as I live in western Europe. And I apologize for any typos and/or grammatical errors!
  22. I am always looking for new and especially consistent friendships! While your background is a mystery a friendship with Maariya could really go either way depending on what he's done and how he thinks about it now, so that's definitely going to be interesting. Maariya lives in Ul'dah so she spends most of her time in the city, the Goblet, or anywhere in Thanalan really.
  23. When you say ''It's just not happening'' do you mean there is just never any consistent RP, or you're just not enjoying it? If you're just having trouble finding RP in general, I'm always up for RP, whether it's just some hanging about, or traveling and doing tasks in some DM styled event. Yet, you say you've already done all of that, so I am unsure if that would help you.
