Can anyone chime in on this and how it will affect them? I heard the analogy that it's like several States seceding from the American union but I don't know if that's an accurate analogy. This is not a debate thread. I'm just asking for this to be focused in a lens for an American and how it might affect individual users. o/

I won't be at Fanfast but I used to live in Vegas and know people that currently do. If anyone needs a locals weigh in on if a place is good/bad/lame/too crowded/bad parking/bad area etc I can provide that. :thumbsup:

I've noticed I've naturally gravitated towards RPers that tend to have the same penchant for PvE that I do. A lot of us are former raiders from wow, one of us actually having cleared Naxx 40. The happy medium you're looking for is whatever makes sense for you. Stuff like this is why it's important to just respect people and the ways they choose to spend their time in and out of game.

This is a completely awesome idea. I'd like to volunteer my FC for reclaiming said locations and if you need help brainstorming ideas or battlesystems to expedite the RP I do/have done both of these so I would be more than willing to assist!

I think it's fairly self explanatory but basically, one person thinks X is fine while other person thinks X isn't a thing in the lore.

Yeah, but at the price of something. They put up all this bullshit foreshadowing of "A HEAVY PRICE WILL BE PAID." With a big ol ominous close up of husbando's (Aymeric's) face and Matoya was all like "YOU HAVE TO FIGHT AND KILL AND LOSE IN WAR." and we got... Nothing. Literally nothing of value was lost, peace is effortless, the entire landscape of Ishgard changes in.... a few days? A month? And there is no information or inkling to indicate it's anything BUT hunkey dory. Puke.

Tbh I think Estenien should have died and the WoL and Alphinaud should have had to kill him. It'd really drive in Matoya's words about what you have to be willing to do in a war and would have been a pretty badass stepping stone for the character.

Highly unlikely. Probably a joke. Unfortunately not. A FC by the name of DragonsKith bought most of the smalls in Beds and Goblet and have been selling them for 50 and 75 mil each. So yes, the Housing Mafia struck again... I saw, though I doubt they actually have MOST of the smalls. Report them. Not like anyone would buy a small for that price anyway. I can say with 99% certainty that this is a troll. And with that I am likely leaving the game. This is so broken it is untrue. Over 80% of the new housing taken by individuals. I 100% agree with this. The house I purchased was for my FC but when I saw all the red colors on the houses they were all personals. Was a major design messup on SE's part with personal housing IMHO.

We hijacking this thread like it's a youth brigade being attacked in a false flag operation. I think for sure 2 and 5 were the best. 5 was a bit derivative but still touched a lot of the same buttons in me. Actually I'm one of those few folks who loved the hell out of 4. It's not my favorite (2 reigns supreme, but 1 is actually a very close second) but it was a genuinely fun game despite its flaws. Also I'm just gonna sit here at work and flail quietly because finding Suikoden fans is so damn rare and it just makes me Really Freaking Happy. *shines Sounssy signal* So something I've run across with my Sharlayan character is it's almost impossible to pin her birthdate down. SE states that the colony was abandoned 20 years ago. It also states that the year it was abandoned was 1562. The last year of the 6th Astral was 1572. Adding the 5 years due to Louisoux's magicks makes this the 5th (6th?) year of the Seventh Umbral. But that would mean the colony was abandoned 15ish years ago..? My character is 23 so her birthdate would either be 1559 or 1554? Help me I have divided by zero.

The whole hook of being a Dotharl is the violence and the being taught nothing BUT that. It does pretty much shoehorn you into a redemption-ish type of arc but that doesn't mean it has to be boring. The character's way of life of massacring doesn't necessarily lend itself to an Eorzean lifestyle so perhaps they've made friends and grown beyond what their first educations disposed them to. If this has already been accomplished then I'd start looking outside if the fact that she's Dotharl to give her exposition. Put her in situations where she has to make challenging decisions that might put her new lifestyle vs. her beliefs that she was taught. I.E. Do I spare this person to do I kill them? Do I assist my allies or do I abandon them? Can I co-exist with these different people or can I not? Put them around very different characters and have them interact, perhaps a pacifist or a healer of some sort. Find the one situation that would actually MAKE your Dotharl fear death then put them in it and see what they do.

It would be helpful if you included some information about your character. Professions, hooks, wikis etc.

If your asking if the magical practice of being an Astrologian can originate anywhere else but Sharlayan then no. If you're asking if you can have a Keeper that had a fascination with stars and constellations, Ewer in particular, well then....Yes. Perhaps that will lead them to seeking someone out to teach them Sharlayan Astromancy.
