Are you really surprised considering XIV's country of origin and aesthetic appeal? I'm honestly more surprised by the number of TV show ones with funny filters or in black-and-white.

TERA was also my first experience RPing on an MMO, but I'd done RP on small forums for a few years before then. I'd talk more but then we'd have to start posting TERA screenshots and I don't have any handy on this machine...

I forgot the event was so early.

A small "Tch-!" could be heard some distance away. Jana Ridah, reading from a book behind one of the pillars in the Thaumaturges' Guild, had heard something distracting... Didn't people know not to be loud in the combination library/funeral home? The browned Miqo'te peeked out from around the pillar to where a woman was stuttering in front of a Lalafell and put a finger in front of her lips before sliding back into her secluded corner.

Jana's IC company chocobo is named Khenta, meant to be a male version of her NPC-sister's name. Her (probably OOC?) racing chocobo is currently named Elegant Clipper. I'm saving Wild Challenger for a few breedings down...

I was late too and didn't know right away that I was supposed to have come with a party in advance. (Missed out on my chance to try and volunteer as a guard too.) I was really busy that day and didn't get to RP much, but maybe next time will be better!

Flame Corporal Jana Ridah lets out a small "tch!" as she finishes reading the article and turns the page. Sitting in the barracks of her superior's unit, Jana skimmed the notes splayed out on the cot in front of her. "These bandits don't seem connected to my investigation... Either of them. Best to keep an eye on any new shipments all the same."

On the topic of names, I did some research into Keeper surnames when making my character back in 2.0 beta, and a lot of them seem to have linguistic origins in north Africa, spread around different languages; Egyptian was the easiest to identify but there were a few NPC surnames that seemed middle-eastern. I'm not an actual linguist though, it's just what I thought was the most accurate language to make my character's name in.

It's like when people thought Jana was homophobic at the Winter Ball when she was really just racist!

My router has been replaced! I got home late from work today but will be available tomorrow and Wednesday for RP, then Friday and the weekend.

Jana's ready and willing to kill if it advances her goal in some way. While it hasn't come up too often and she hasn't killed any RP characters, her mindset is to bury her bodies with more bodies, and she's okay with the fact that her own is likely to top off the pile if it means achieving those goals. There was also that one time she began a personal genocide against the Amalj'aa in the name of gaining some more magical power... In comparison, things like "lying" or "misrepresenting the truth" to keep others in the dark is really nothing compared to her body count, well over 100 if regular adventurer and soldier fighting is counted. One thing Jana will proudly say she's never done is steal material things from another person, though. Edit: While she's getting over it, her prejudices against tribal Seekers are nothing short of hypocritical, since her willingness to fight, maim, and kill makes her more barbaric than any of those she's encountered!

I believe what the Grindstone would often do in the same situation is just make some people fight one round less to try and keep everyone in the tournament. Might not seem fair, but I think it's more fair than saying "you can't fight" period.

On the shore of La Noscea, Jana Ridah, partially-undercover while working for the Arcanists' Guild, was looking over a shipment of contraband that had washed ashore after being thrown overboard. As if that would save it from falling into the hands of any officials... But along with the crate of shady herbs was a bottle that had gotten caught up in the same current. The miqo'te had a mind to toss it out, until she felt just how heavy it was... Emptying it out, she pocketed the gil, briefly scanned the page, saw it wasn't any sort of shipping manifest, and put it back into the bottle to be tossed into the nearest wastebasket. Pirates could be so silly sometimes. What kind of blowhard would write a poem to be tossed into the sea with money?

Jana's dealt with characters who, correctly, tell her she has no arresting power as a Flame. But that doesn't mean she can't beat them up before calling for Brass Blades over linkpearl.

Because I'm a sad babby who comes home from work and immediately falls asleep, I still have an old event to do with Eva and Verad. I was going to try for tonight, but it looks like I was too late on the update... How relevant would the event Jana was supposed to look into be for tonight's?

AIS is the hypest shit. Too bad the PSO2xFFXIV collab talks were just that.

Playing other games while I take a break from FFXIV. Fun times.
