Having a ringside seat to the sprites as Ilwe creates them, I just want to say how much effort she puts in. I see them, they are great and then she does even more to them. She really puts a lot into it and to all those that have one, know that she has probably deliberated over every single pixel and doubted many things. Yes I watched it and thought they had been building to that for a while. I was glad they did it but it was a bit of a departure of the general tone of the series in that it ended on romance.

Hey there, a lot there I can relate to.. age, DnD, SWTOR, and some of the others. There is a really good and active RP community here so you should fit right in.

Nebbs started trying to fit the Keeper mould, at least in her head if not with any success with dates and suitors. Go for it and I have played against mutes before, and deaf and blind (even deaf and partially sighted players). My main tip for all these "crutch" characters is to always play the character first and the mute second (or last), never define this character as the mute. Use the emotes creatively, but also use obvious ways to communicate like writing and drawing.. or even an enchanted speaking parrot. I once gave a mute in SWTOR a tablet that spoke out what he typed, in a very girlie voice (such is the lessons of a Jedi). Personally I think this is the character's player's problem to sort out.. so: Don't expect me to play RP charades with you, that gets boring really fast Do expect me to misunderstand your emotes Do expect me to fill in gaps with guesses that are wrong and not wait around for you to articulate Still if you want to play such a thing, go for it and make it a positive RP character.

Same for me.. I was thinking Amazon may be busy this time of year and if they put their hosting through some of their store infrastructure there may be a bottleneck.

I find this entire statement to be laughable. When someone makes a comment about not liking the way a particular race is portrayed, they're suddenly 'racist' versus that race (a non-issue considering it is a fantasy race in a game and not a legitimate race in the actual world and the last I checked, people are permitted to like or dislike any player-race they so see fit), and attacked with a mob mentality by the players in the LS. Despite the leader on at the time supposedly not agreeing with the individuals doing the attacking, they were justified. After an argument that occurred with my husband, and not myself, I logged out still in the LS, and logged back in to find myself kicked from the linkshell without cause or provocation. I did not speak up in defense of my husband except to state that the types of players we encountered were of a type we weren't fond of, and that had created the bias that he displayed. I was laughed at and told to stop playing in the Quicksand. I said nothing myself of the bias, save that I wasn't fond of it, and was disgusted, as another player also expressed, at the behavior of some of those in the LS. I mentioned in private conversation to Ilwe that I stayed in LS and contributed only occasionally because that was when I felt like chiming in, and that I could do so and actually contribute to the conversation. After this, I wouldn't plan to return to the linkshell even if invited, nor do I recommend anyone else join. As stated in this post, you can get all announcements from the forum itself, and the group tends to adopt a mob mentality more than they do finding a middle ground. And here I had hoped my first post on the forum would be much more positive. I will say, I also thought I would be asked to leave, not simply kicked when I was offline, and had no chance to ask why, or be told why I was being removed. I'm sorry things did not work out and if you want to discuss I am open to PMs, especially as I was the one who removed you and not directly involved in any of the surrounding issues. There are other RP related LS available, some of these may be more suited to you and I hope you find what you are looking for.

Being Excellent to Each other I would just like to make a few points about conduct in this LS First, the leaders are here to help the community, not to take your abuse or venting. Make it personal and expect to get kicked. Second, keep the discussions positive and when asked to move off a topic please do. Often this is because it is clearly inappropriate or heading that way, and we often have several PMs complaining. This is a communal LS not your personal soap box. Don't like this.. expect to get kicked Third, the LS is to be a part of to link up for RP etc.. it is not an easy way to get announcement of RP that is already on this forum, we do that as a reminder. If you are here just to mooch off this please leave and let someone who wants to add to the LS join. However, people have left or been kicked for such things and when they have calmed down they have rejoined. So we try to be inclusive and tolerant but in the end this is a community with diverse views .. try and find that middle ground please.

Bla bla random tank stuff jumping in here.. There are two main ways multiple mobs are killed that means you have to adjust how you tank. 1. Sequential - DPS kill them sinple target style in the order you mark DPS kill in a random order - So you need to mark the kill order Healers pull hate from all engaged mobs - so you still need a few Flash/Overpower in there Alternatively you can spread your rotation across the mobs, using the highest hate blows for the mod that you are fighting the DPS on 2. Parallel - DPS AoE all the mobs down DPS and Healers get hate on all mobs - so you need to maintain hate on all mobs with Flash/Overpower and spreading any rotation You have to dodge mob aoe attacks, and make sure to gather them up 3. It has to be complicated - You get a single target dps and an aoe dps and a hate creating healer Best to mark the first kill for the single target DPS as you will have to put rotations into this Best to blow several Flash/Overpower to grab sufficiently the rest of the mobs And that WHM doing Holy.. just hang in there and get your provokes ready Now for some insights that might help you sleep at night, when you loose aggro DPS have ways to stop getting hate, skills, switching targets, stopping to press buttons and the ultimate hate dump = death. Most dead party members who pulled hate didn't stop their hate generation, and even if you had tried to get it back you would likely loose hate to the dpsing WHM from the other mobs. When the party plays on the limits then stuff is going to come loose and that is okay. The aim is to not wipe more than it is to not have deaths. So be a big picture tanker and let a few eggs break. Most problem causes generally end up with a symptom at the tank end. So even though it might seem your fault it is likely this occurred some place else.. missed heals, slow dps, stupid pet etc.. Just some random thoughts from a life in the Tank lane by someone who is a psycho DPSer at heart.

People at work just won't stop trying to squeeze things in before the break.. it's not like anyone will take any notice of them until we all get back! People being otherwise engaged over the period.. I get some free time and they go and spend it enjoying themselves.. how selfish! Being introverted is perfectly fine.. leave me alone for new year, why do I have to be subject to forced socialisation with people who care so much about each other they don't even say hello in the street?
