I agree that it's this right here. A lot of folks would be surprised how many females roleplay! Especially on FFXIV. In World of Warcraft, I've noticed it to be a tweensy bit more balanced on the faction/server I played on. I think it comes down to target audience, as well.

Why should anyone have to do something so obtuse over 2-3 people that can't be bothered to back off before things turn sour? This was the whole point of my first post: have consideration for your fellow players. It really isn't that hard, folks. It's not sour though, it's a conversation, not an argument... I think that's the big difference folks are missing here. Conversation where two folks are talking from opposite perspectives or "sides" is not an argument, which is, well, the titular purpose of the thread alone... to raise awareness that disagreeing is not rude or toxic at all. Or at least, it shouldn't be.

Hey folks! So I recently recruited a friend onto the game, but the problem is that nothing and I mean NOTHING across anything produced by Square Enix guides new referrals through the process of obtaining a trial and inputting your friend's RAF code. Does anyone know when and most importantly where to input my recruit-a-friend code for his account? I realized that I sent the RAF code to his email being used for the account late (as in after he made the trial account), but while looking through all of these Reddit forums they share their RAF code as though it's only the code that matters, not if the recruited have the email from SE. Like I said, there's no real guide or explanation on this that I can find anywhere and I've been having a hard time getting clear answers out of friends, so I'd really, really need a clear, concise answer that tells me everything I need to know. Is my code enough? Where do we put my code in? When do we put my code in? Please help!

I don't think Ashren was trying to say they weren't xenophobic, merely pointing out that Ala Mhigans were a bad example due to their terrible standing with one another brought upon then by their rocky relations in the past. Its pretty obvious they wouldn't like Ala Mhigans after that whole shebang blew up in Ala Mhigo's face. That example alone is quite a reasonable one, so its not the soundest example of xebophobia simply because its quite justified and rational. This is all super off-topic though

Currently working my way through Rune Factory 4. Once I beat the story, its on to Mass Effect 2 for me! That being said, I've always had little contact with games outside of MMOs, but Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town has got to take my number one spot right in front of Dragon Age: Origins.

Personally I still think what determines the server lock is the simultaneous log ins. And if you think about it, that is also explained by the fact that the maintenance has a time when people squeeze through. Nobody logs in when a maintenance is about to begin. You also notice that post-maintenance server openings for character creator are longer when the servers go back up at hours in which NAs are asleep/at work/at school, while they're shorter if the servers come back during NAs prime log in time (afternoon/evening). That at least is my main suspicion that makes me think currently online people have little blame in server lock out (they might have it in server congestion, but that is another issue, one that when rised will lock transfers from other servers as well), and as such that the AFK boot feature will have little merit in that field. Personally I think the main blame goes to the Lobby Server which, while it has been updated in 2.1 (with the disappearance of the outrageously big log in queues), clearly is still not good enough for the current mass of logging-in players our server has to endure. Something to also take into consideration is that before maintenance they always ask people to log out before the servers go down, and after maintenance a lot of players have moved on to do other things outside of the game or are logging in again. The latter being said, with that in mind, it actually makes more sense for creation to be based around those currently logged in, especially considering that every server DOES have a maximum players online limit.
