  1. No idea what happened. I know there was some cleaning done in the LS to make space. You might have ended up in that by mistake - I'll try to ask.
  2. I refer to my signature.. Kirimu coat for life.
  3. One of the things I have applied to Nailah as she is a very newbie thraumaturge in training, is an aspect of instability. As far as I gathered, to get good at thraumaturgy the caster needs to have their emotional state in check otherwise they'll loose control of their spells. So what I did with Nailah, because she has anger issues.. (She -is- a redhead afterall) is that whenever she gets angry she can't control her aether, and then random fireballs might happen. Currently I don't have her dependent on the active use of a staff/gem/thing to channel it through because I haven't been to certain on it. I would maybe tentatively make it so that she's carrying around a gem that aids her, if I had to put something in and I was allowed a little wiggle-room. It's caused some fun situations with friendly fire and made here more adamant not to loose her cool, and she did also once sear some of her hair off so she had to go short-haired for a while. I don't actually remember where exactly I have it from (this is really typical of me, I read something and then I forget where I read it), if it's mentioned in any of the lore at all. It does seem like a sensible thing though.
  4. Velhi, stop throwing bottles at random girls in public. Velhi, stop punching your co-workers. Velhi, stop going to the sparring room without spotters to vent your frustration against people so you wont get in trouble, because it's getting you in trouble! -.-'
  5. "Oh my god you're tiny!" "Shortlander" "Oh, I thought you were a midlander" -cue one of her taller highlander friends using her head as an armrest- One day she'll get her revenge. One day.
  6. I tend to try and stay away from controversial/grey areas of lore because of this. I also do not plan ahead on characters, e.g right now some people out there are fleshing out everything about their Au Ra's and I'm just sat here waiting for lore essentially. I have played a little with the character creator but I prefer finalizing things when the whole shebang goes live. If it was to happen to me, I'd be seeing if there was any possible way to salvage the situation. I am not afraid of using ret-cons, and I have a pretty good idea about who knows what about my character, at least directly, so I would be able to manage it. However, if there's no way out then I would likely arrange for the character to fall over and die at some point. I'm not afraid of making new ones, it just means new adventures, but of course it'd suck a fair bit. But, personally I am just not comfy with playing something that very extensively breaks the lore. I can bend things, but not make them snap. If I was to just trundle through with it I'd be super self-conscious about it and feel that I'd have to excuse myself to the people that I am playing with because I am bringing something to their RP they might not accept and I really don't feel okay with doing that. I do not want to force things on my surroundings.

  9. When I came from Rift, I'd been playing a character that was rather over-powered, because of the ascension lore and what it did to people. So I was looking for something different to keep RP refreshed and interesting. I chose to almost go anti-sue on Nailah, giving her a regular if but slightly tragic past, and beyond making her physically strong enough to deal a good punch in a barfight, I didn't give her anything else in terms of combat-oriented power. Instead I decided to ramp up her influence, explore how she could have contacts and favors owed in various places around Eorzea. So she became the type that likely knows someone, or at least knows someone that knows someone. I also gave her some skill with surviving in the wild and the likes. In recent time (past 3 months) Nailah has been studying thraumaturgy (focused on fire), which is a direct reaction to the RP that has been going on. She's been attempted killed and gotten real close to dying about 3 times so far and, I think that was enough to convince her to try and pick up some manner of self-defense. However, she's not set to become really super powerful anytime soon, I expect her to be able to fight in real fights with a decent chance of getting away from it alive in about 3 or so months time. I like to do slow progression when it comes to skills, I feel it gives some more "weight" to them in a sense than just attributing it to the past (though I do not disagree with those who do, it's just another way of doing it.) But overall it's very different and at that very interesting for me as a roleplayer to (finally) get to experience a point of view that isn't super awesome fight-oriented like stuff. I have not been able to properly achieve this in any other game so far, and it's been something I wanted to try out for a long time.
  10. Nailah thinks the glass is half filled with water, which is annoying because she'd prefer if it was empty so she could fill it with wine.
