  1. Was about to propose something like this. Honestly this would be very helpful for people like me, who do not have a set RP base per se. Would also help with IC runs of content like what's gonna happen with that plot I wanna do.
  2. Therein lies the problem - they aren't, anymore. They're severely weakened. Also, the Quieting seemed like a ceremony that must be performed regardless of the Elementals' assessment of the Shroud. Anyway, I'm still thinking we're getting a Gridania is getting fucked over story in Heavensward.
  3. Reminds me of my DCUO mains when it comes to used to do messed up pasts but then didn't for one game. Just sad that to this day I think Searchlight might be one of the most solid RP characters I've ever made and chances are I'm never gonna use her again.
  4. I know a Dany Beauchemin in real life. I am not joking.
  5. End quote - but nah it's the exact same. Dunno what was everyone's problem with Estinien showing up at Aymeric's side then. Also, my point was not "The Elementals are bad" - it's the very real in-game world racism/xenophobia of Gridanian citizens. You say they'd go down a darker path but they've already done that. I'm not even talking about the Ala Mhigan refugees even. I'm talking about the fact that if it wasn't for Gridanian racism there's a ton of bad apples that wouldn't be - LNC antagonist being the first. In so far as the refusing aid to Ishgard, she simply echoed the rest of the Alliance, who essentially wanted to send a massive "fuck you" to Ishgard due to their non-presence at Carteneau. I thought that was logical. Did they aid them against Ala Mhigo? Sure. They also refused to send aid in a conflict that was far less than 50 years ago. Also, keep in mind that for some of the conjurers agency is a myth and ALL is the will of the Elementals - One of the conjurers you help out in your starting Gridania quests thanks... the Elementals for delivering you to them. Not you for actually doing the job they needed doing.
  6. Also, if they're going to be ear replacement and look different from face to face, "ear" customization for Lalas/Elezens is already a thing. I don't see why specific horns have to be tied to the face. At best, I can see one reason - the facial features tab being replaced by the scales custom option as it affects the horns.
  7. I'm actually surprised that we got face scales as the replacement / section for makeup rather than Horns. I legitimately thought they would be like Elezen/Lala ears.
  8. If that's the only thing you have against Limsa you haven't paid attention to the plot either - Limsa's problems aren't "derp pirates", in fact the only times unsanctioned pirates cause problems, the problems get resolved after plotlines (ROG 1-30, ACN 30, Dance quest). The structure of the Yellowjackets/Mealvaan's Gate actually functions for policing the city decently. Much more than, say, the Brass Blades can police the Alacran, considering that the guilds themselves end up doing more than the BBs when it comes to the Alacran. (Before you say you just mentioned the guilds doing that in Limsa, ROG is a race vs. the Maelstrom to stop a plot and for their guild's survival, so the Maelstrom are involved, and Arcanists are part of the city's policing as per the early quests of ACN, where you essentially inspect crates for illegal goods and balance books~ THAT'S RIGHT THEY'RE MAGIC ACCOUNTANTS) Limsa's problems is that they have absolutely zero respect for treaties they themselves signed, and endangered the entirety of Vylbrand by forcing the hand of the Kobolds in summoning Titan. You know, A HUGE PORTION OF THE MSQ? ONE THAT IS EVEN BROUGHT UP BY Y'SHTOLA RIGHT IN THE FACE OF MERLWYB? Gridania being racist fucks in addition to slaves of the Elementals is pretty danged bad, true. I've said it numerous times that they should make a plotline based on that. They probably can't because they'd need to make lines that checked for : - Whether the adventurer started in Gridania - Whether the adventurer is a Duskwight/Keeper of the Moon/Highlander - Grand Company status - MSQ status With Ishgard being the focus I'm pretty sure they'll be introducing something in Gridania that'll make it just as bad. Probably something like the Elementals are now dead and Gridania is completely fucked without them. It just won't be centered on Gridanian racism/xenophobia which is the problem for that city. Like, it's easy to make a plotline based on greed in Ul'dah - just gotta make a villain willing to fuck over the whole continent for a few gil more. (2.4, 2.5 patch cycles) Making a plotline on how Gridanian racism screwed over the entire Alliance? Gonna be a tiny bit harder and involve making characters that are as well received as G'raha Tia. Or as I've heard him called, G'raha Sue, Gary Tia, etc.
  9. Probably mentioned this before but still. Clio has absolutely no qualms in listening to plots or furthering them along even if they might make zero sense at first glance.
  10. We need more shameless flirts around. I hear he fits that role like a glove. His avatar's pretty swag, too.
  11. I incorporate many OOC aspects that usually resolve around : "Wouldn't it be funny/interesting/awesome/etc. if...?" and then it just writes itself. After that, RP happens, and now Kell is on an epic quest to find some tonberries so he can barter for a chef's knife while worrying if he didn't accidentally transmit voidsent corruption to a conjurer he knows and wondering what the fuck is up with the postmoogles and their handing off a package with no name with a mission to deliver it. Which is to say, having fun, if others buy what you're selling, will lead to amazing stories.
  12. The "fish out of water" cliché I guess - I always use it if I've no prior contact with the lore as to explain my OOC shortcomings. Alternately, edging the lore as well.
  13. I just said fuck it and started RPing in Bronze Lake. Y'all can do that too. I RPed in the Canopy once, and saw a group there too, RPing in /say. Dunno who they are.
  14. Said scenario should never actually occur as per the rules themselves. They'd be at 2 points across all months, post a meme and that'd be their minor for the month, leaving them at either 2 or 4 points.
  15. From my understanding, someone who'd get a permaban from that would be someone who has a history of doing that intentionally. Which is, arguably, not someone you'd want hanging around anyway. I'm personally liking it, but honestly believe it won't do anything to change much around here.
  16. This thread has been attempted numerous times in the past. With about 0 interest shown by the people here every single time, mostly blaming the people who didn't RP in Ul'dah for not trying enough to get there, or not trying enough in their own space. 'cause you know, it's their own damn fault anyway. Also, Grindstone may as well be Ul'dah it's a stone's throw away.
  17. Dunno how 1.0 worked so these words have no bearing to me. Explain please?
  18. It's the city that gets the most exploration and development because the devs deem it so (likely this has to do with various metrics that I've not seen) and because their planned storyline passed through Ul'dah this time around. I foresee absolutely nothing for Limsa in this expansion cycle, and likely a plot twist of immense proportions for Gridania. Nostradawoods has spoken
  19. You mean the RP that has absolutely no bearing upon the actual in-game lore? That will never be taken into consideration into scenario writing of the actual game? The scenario and backstory that we are currently discussing in this thread independent of RP? Yes, I completely dismissed that the same way the developers would. RP is in REACTION to that. My personal opinions on Ul'dah lie only in what's shown in-game as I'm not involved in any Ul'dah RP. (Debate for another thread, but seriously, anyone who's into Ul'dah RP has no place about complaining that their RP is dismissed considering how little non-Ul'dah RP there actually is - I mean, start a "Let's get ourselves another RP hub!" thread and see if that actually does anything this time around. It sure didn't the last three times I saw it. But as I said debate for another thread.)
  20. Hey guys, remember Estinien? I think they modified the DRG 50 script to retrofit the fact that he shows up in 2.55 - but I've never done DRG 50 before this patch so I dunno. Anyone know where I could find the original DRG 50 quest text? * * * I disagree with the whole "Eorzea needs saving from itself". It's one city, filled with assholes, that have always been assholes (Hildibrand Quest finale) that deserve nothing but to be eradicated from the map as they bring forth nothing of actual value to anyone other than Lolorito. In addition, in the Garlean perspective, it's entirely a "religious" war - as in, they believe in the Twelve/Eikons ergo they are dumb and we need to rescue them from this idiocy.
  21. Since this hasn't been posted in in quite some time. DR : Low Level Either you're getting Sastacha or Haukke Manor. Nothing else. PLD gon take a while I fear
  22. Padjal horns start from the back of the head rather than the sides, and have more of a woodland creature texture than anything - they aren't asymmetrical. If so that's a bug I think. The actual gray-white leaf thing isn't a horn, but a weird Gridanian ornament that Seedseers seem to wear. Which isn't accessible in-game (obviously, but ya know). So with that in mind - I'd advise against trying to pass off an Au Ra as a Padjali. At best you're trying to recreate the ornament with their horns which is kind of... not that? Best bet is still midlander Hyur with child-like features, and big poofy hair if we can find a proper haircut (if you have O-App-Pesi or E-Sumi-Yan's horn patterns a large amount of hair would hide those well). Granted that would likely go against what they want to do, but yeah.
  23. Bastion was published by WBIE. Transistor was Supergiant only. Was Transistor good? Never played it... Me either. I didn't like Bastion - Played it to the end, felt I'd go back to it, found it kind of lacking when arriving at that moment. Skipped Transistor completely.
  24. Bastion was published by WBIE. Transistor was Supergiant only. * * * About Dyack, I'd just like to mention X-Men : Destiny here. Probably the only time gamerzzzzz ever rooted for Activision.
