I just want to pop in here to say that I don't think writing stories/story arc stuff for your character is dumb at all. I like Natalie's idea, too! ....and yus, there's still Hot Topic. 8-) That aside, you're always welcome to kick around ideas with me. I haven't even started to think about how my character makes the jump to DRK.

I like to mix in a little RP and PvE/world events when possible. Unfortunately (to my nooblet knowledge) you can't time FATEs but incorporating some of the larger/chained ones could be kind of cool. I'm chewing on a mini-plot idea around disappearing children in Ul'dah (to start at least) that was going to be FC and friends but I wanted to end it with like a multi-team dungeon delve sort of deal to end it. But that's just me, I think this question'll have lots of answers/ideas.

Zarek (and Melody) both had a blast. Was great to see at least one familiar face and earn some laughs from some new ones. Also, can't wait for the Val/Zarek funtimes fight.

My characters dip into both 'sides' of this really. I find them to be fun and allows for diversity and different situations/stories/etc between characters. Zarek is, by and large, a scrappy guy who grew up in Ul'dah as a bouncer/collector for the Mirage. Through adventuring and other shenanigans he's been able to open up and use his Aether/chakra but I treat it like a 'special moment' sort of thing. It's far, far more common for him to fight with his hands, knives (hello rogue), or a stick (them lancer levels) and be a pretty great martial artist than a super powerful magic fighter, but still fairly 'normal'. Tseh'to on the other hand is a staff/lance fighter who does use Aether, but I don't and won't consider him a dragoon IC even once I get to those levels. If anything it's prep/groundwork potentially for dark knight, as that's traditionally a class that mixes magic and melee.

I still need to figure out what Tseh'to's gonna wear...hrm. Gots to make sure he's dressed like the cool cat he is. 8-)

I'm actually not in the pearl. It's been full for some time, as far as I know, so I haven't really gotten around to inquiring about it~ I'll try and keep an eye out for you, either way. :> Thanks again for dropping all the stuff on me! My i-level thanks you for it as do I! And don't worry, I'll be sure to hit folks up before I try to pug/duty finder things. Just last night Steel helped with an Amdapoor Keep run that was smoother than the proverbial Lala's backside!

I was on last night and managed to kick over Meridianum and Praetorium (or whatever the fight with Ultima is), in one go with some help.

I'm in the same boat as you are, Steel! Just hit 50, just got back to the game, and will be making a DRK when they come out but I'd still like to see everything I can in the meantime. So yeah, if you want a fellow nooblet MNK along to punch things for you, I'm your guy. 8-)

This is an awesome thread, you're all great for posting in it. Sadly, being that I -just- got my first 50 on one character and my other is a lowbie, I can't offer much but if I think of something I want, I'll pop back in here. Just wanted to plus one this SO HARD.

Well...just in case this is a random question thread (if it's not, forgive me and I'll ship my silly questions off elsewhere! ), here's a pair I've been pondering while getting things situated for RP-ness on my Moonkeeper. -It's mentioned that some Keeper clans/families made peace with the Wood Wailers,etc...is this a minority approach overall for the Keepers in the Shroud? -Do Keepers and Seekers not get along? I haven't found anything that says one way or another but it just seems to be a feel/impression I've gotten generally speaking.

Or "Welcome Back to the Stage of History!" While I wasn't going to make one of these initially but it's better than lurking about! Mainly I just wanted to say hello to all the new and old faces (well names really). I was originally around here when ARR re-launched (launched?) on Balmung and ended up frequenting mostly the Grindstone as well as a few other events. I'd like to (formally? heh) get back into not just the community but RP as well so..here I am! Also, since I know it worked well before, I'd like to ask if there's anyone I can maybe talk to and bounce a few ideas off of regarding Miqo'te. Hold the groans, I know...I actually didn't make one initially because I didn't want to add to the -huge- population but I have a lowbie now (a Keeper male) and want to make sure I don't drown once I toss him into the RP swimming pool, so to speak. So there we go! It's nice to be back and hope to see everyone around! 8-)

I love it when I log back in for the first time in months and get a great greeting from some old friends. 8-)
