Rune reading sounds cool as hell, actually. OOC I'd be interested in this for sure, even if Zarek is likely to IC seem skeptical.

As some people may have noticed already, Alueaux Dunant has been so kind to run some mini events within Coerthas, what he plans to continue for a while I believe ! Doh, do you know if there's any info on these? I must've missed them somewhere but would definitely like to attend!

Going to chime in here as someone who JUST played Turtles in Time again a few weeks ago. That game is still amazingly fun after all these years and there really IMO hasn't been a turtles game on par with it since. That said I was also big on Contra, Castlevania, and Gradius, never really got into MGS (sadly). Have to echo Prova though. Pour one out for an old friend. EDIT: Totally forgot they did the Biker Mice from Mars game back on the SNES too. My little brother and I played the hell out of that game.

Welcome to the madhouse that is both the RPC and FFXIV in general! And as you may have seen, you definitely won't be the only one downing a fantasia in the near future around here. I actually do this a lot. I have Zarek Windsoul (from Ul'dah) and a Duskwight Elezen who both have brown skin (like myself). I also main'd an Elonian back in GW2. In CoH/CoV most of my characters were brown skinned or mixed. Is it a bad thing? I wouldn't say so at all. Their stories make/made sense but their skin color, more often than not doesn't really factor too much into their roleplay (it was a story point that my Elonian wanted to know more about his culture and Zarek now wants to know more about Highlanders, though they're a much more diverse lot comparatively). I actually used to joke with a lot of my tabletop friends by calling it "forced diversity", which is where I bring in a darker skinned PC in a world traditionally filled with pale to light skinned people on the whole. Now do I only play characters who look like me? Not at all. But the majority are because (even if few would admit it) it makes them stand out visually because on the whole alongside other characters. I also want to point out that I don't usually make much of a fuss about their skin tones because their character/personality/etc is more important (I've known a few people who do/have done this and I've found it can be sometimes offputting to others to say the least).

I just tried playing that through PS Now, I just couldn't make it through. Games are not all about graphics, but damn man... It's an oldie but goodie, trust me.

So many +1s given out in this thread for great mentions that I didn't think got enough love the first time around. Legend of Zelda, Double Dragon, Mutant League, Contra, Xenogears, Parasite Eve etc etc.... I will say I'm SUPER surprised no one's mentioned this game yet: Shadow of the Colossus

I love it when...my little niece shows interest in 'geeky' things (sorry all the baby talk made me think of her!). She's just turned three but already she loves having a 'cape' tied around her neck and is huuuuge on Ninja Turtles. 8-)

This is an issue I've run into in pretty much EVERY game. But so far FF has done a good job of making sure things come across well so I've got a little faith left over that they'll maybe do it differently. In the meantime, Zarek's good with his usual look.

Kellach has taught me (through that great line of his sig) the wonders of Elusive Jump while leveling my Dragoon. Srsly. It's actually really useful.

I fall in the camp of people who've been waiting on a 2handed sword class to come along since I got on the bandwagon for FFXIV back when 2.0 launched. The announcement that DRK was coming was actually something my FC-leader used to help nudge me back into the game believe it or not LOL. That said, I want to try and level both PLD and DRK for my (new! shiny!) Elezen so he'll probably alternate between both for RPtimes.

It was a lot of fun, even if Zarek lost in the first round. >_>

This is something I could maybe throw in with as well.

Unless something comes up, I plan to show tonight and compete with Zarek! 8-)
