If you could bring over one aspect from another game---

Recommended Posts

Thanks to Flynt for this thread here and making me think on it but on another angle!

If I could bring ANYTHING over from any other game I would have to say:

Housing from Wildstar

Yup. I said it. I loved Wildstar for its housing! I made some really awesome plots and I think half of the population would disappear in to housing just to make things for days!

What aspect would you bring over from another game?

The ability to mail stuff to my alts, and a large shared bank among them.

This

And any housing system where we can all have a house, FFXIV housing is basically broken just for that one aspect. I even know people who are hanging onto multiple plots to make a profit.

Oh boy...Do take my post with a grain of salt as this is not what I think would make the game better but rather what i would love to see in the game.

Mostly from WoW

- Experience boosting heirloom items (Especially for those who play multiple toons or can't stand doing "Daily" quests[seriously. Leves are just Dailies in disguise] )

- able to mount in cities but not indoors/auto dismount indoors. (Player Housing zones is a start)

- Less grinding (not by a lot) for the AF weapons (More like Legendary Ring in WOD or MOP)

Housing system from Wildstar. I've learned to live without being able to mail stuff to alts but housing... I fell in love with housing in LOTRO and SWG and then saw what Wildstar did... Yeah, I kind of feel FFXIV dropped the ball on the personal housing thing.

TERA's action combat...

TERA's beautiful character models...

TERA's facial feature sliders in character creation...

Castanic men and their abs... high elf men and their lickable chests....

Uh. *cough* I liked TERA a lot.

Dimensions from Rift.

Some of my own videos from when I did them:

Novia is a co-build between me and my boyfriend. Several of the structures are built plank-for-plank (they later added wall-segments), and the item limit was sat high enough for us to be able to get a proper village feel out of it. It gave us the opportunity to create places from our characters backgrounds for future RP purposes, was a /great/ tool.

This one here was from when the Dimensions system was being tested on the PTR (so, before it's actual launch). Deciding to see what it could do, my bf tried to replicate the pig and whistle (Tavern from Stormwind in WoW) and got away with it very decently. Again this is built plank-for-plank, so every plank has been manually placed.

I sank so many hours into those things. My channel has a bunch of other videos from both mine and others dimensions, but I have not added any new ones since I started playing XIV.

LoTRO's cosmetic vault and expandable item vault on the side, because I'm not willing to buy another retainer for more storage space and think the idea is rather stupid that I'm trusting all my worldly possessions to 'another character' in game.

LoTRO's entire cosmetic system for that matter as well. Oh it's end game gear and you aren't leveling that alt beyond 15? It's fine! You can still wear it! Want to wear armor as a caster? HAVE I GOT GOOD NEWS FOR YOU. And all of it is free, save more cosmetic slots, no need to buy prisms.
