Yunas13 Posted December 26, 2015 Share #1 Posted December 26, 2015 http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/276658-FF13-event-items-to-be-added-to-Mogstation I am really hoping this is real. I deleted my first character when I left the game for a little while not thinking I was coming back and losing that still stings. I rushed through my first time through to get the outfit/hairstyle/weapons. If this is real, I'm SO BUYING THESE! Link to comment
Zoya Posted December 26, 2015 Share #2 Posted December 26, 2015 Well...step forward, japanese speakers! The uneducated mob requires your aid in this time of need! Personally, I'm not getting my hopes up just yet, but if it truly is real, I'll probably end up buying it for the hair. Again. I'm an idiot like that >.> Link to comment
Cliodhna Eoghan Posted December 26, 2015 Share #3 Posted December 26, 2015 Basically says it will be adding the item sets (male as one and female as the other) as well as each of the weapons as a separate item minus weapons that did not exist at the time. translation; "so please no dark knight, machinist, ninja, and astrologin". Seriphyn Posted December 26, 2015 Share #4 Posted December 26, 2015 Urgh, and I thought it was the end of that stupid lorebreaking trenchcoat. Link to comment
Warren Castille Posted December 26, 2015 Share #5 Posted December 26, 2015 How is a coat lorebreaking...? Link to comment
Unnamed Mercenary Posted December 26, 2015 Share #6 Posted December 26, 2015 How is a coat lorebreaking...? Especially for that Warrior of Light person. I mean, they even met Lightning and obtained the outfits by picking up boxes of them! It's no more lore-breaking than any of the glamour gear to me. . At least the FXIII doesn't propagate Minfillia push-up cleavage. Link to comment
Aaron Posted December 26, 2015 Share #7 Posted December 26, 2015 Can't be any more lorebreaking than the Cloud outfit. Link to comment
Seriphyn Posted December 26, 2015 Share #8 Posted December 26, 2015 Never mind, I forgot the Snow Coat is from a science fiction sort of universe brimming with technology, and will therefore fit perfectly into FFXIV's setting. Link to comment
Dravus Posted December 26, 2015 Share #9 Posted December 26, 2015 It's pretty easy to just write off unusual looking attire as being from beyond Eorzea's borders. Hydaelyn is a massive place and Eorzea is but a small part of it after all. I'm pretty glad that they're adding the event gear to the store though. It'll help prevent the frequent request threads popping up on the official site and it's a sweet deal for those who happened to miss the event itself. I'll have to take another look at the weapon selection since some of it may actually be pretty useful for Garlean characters and Magitek users. Link to comment
Flashhelix Posted December 26, 2015 Share #10 Posted December 26, 2015 Never mind, I forgot the Snow Coat is from a science fiction sort of universe brimming with technology, and will therefore fit perfectly into FFXIV's setting. yeah man, check out all the high tech shit on that coat, it's got ZIPPERS and BUTTONS, so science fiction Link to comment
Oroban Posted December 26, 2015 Share #11 Posted December 26, 2015 Definitely looks like it belongs in a world with giant, sword wielding robots. Or maybe flying suits of robotic armor that shoot lasers. Definitely not in a plain ol fantasy world like FFXIV. Link to comment
Valence Posted December 26, 2015 Share #12 Posted December 26, 2015 Can't look more scify than ironworks 120 gear... Which I absolutely love for my WhM on a pure OOC level. Because well, when i'm not RPing, considering that 80% or more of the people you see wear immersion breaking shit anyway (FFXIII stuff is clearly not the most immersion breaking stuff there is, and at least it's not full of cleavage/thigh revealing stuff, looking at you minfillia/yda). If I want to RP in an immersive setup, I shut myself off inside my little bubble with RP friendlies and use the equipment accordingly... Link to comment

If you can find me FFXIV gear that also looks pulled straight from a 2015 catalogue... Link to comment

We've got an entire tier of raid gear that is literally power armor, I think combat boots with laces won't kill you 1 Link to comment
Aaron Posted December 26, 2015 Share #15 Posted December 26, 2015 Never knew laces could kill a person's immersion. This has gotten ridiculous. Link to comment

TheLastCandle Posted December 26, 2015 Share #17 Posted December 26, 2015 Meh, it looks a bit tacky and the zippers are just a smidge out of place for Eorzean attire, IMO, but I don't see anything hugely jarring about it. Remember when the event first came around and everybody had Lightning or Snow hair? Wonder if we'll see that again when they're put on the cash shop. I kinda miss the absurdity of walking into a room and seeing the same hairstyle on every female. Happened to me a few times back then. Link to comment
Kellach Woods Posted December 26, 2015 Share #18 Posted December 26, 2015 I'm more ticked about Cloud's Advent Children outfit being released with the fucking scabbards. NO ONE CAN EQUIP 6 SWORDS AT THE SAME TIME IN GAME, SQUARE. Link to comment
Caspar Posted December 26, 2015 Share #19 Posted December 26, 2015 It's fashionable wear from ancient Allag. The advanced textiles and strange metal fastening teeth are surely the relics of lost technology. It is advanced on an altogether different level than the steam power and mesh armor from Rowena's in Idyllshire, the high tech carbonweave and aetheric machinery of Ironworks gear, or the gadgets and valves of the sky pirates. Oli! Posted December 26, 2015 Share #20 Posted December 26, 2015 Actually, yes, the boots in particular have a contemporary construction to them. If you can find me FFXIV gear that also looks pulled straight from a 2015 catalogue... The heavy crafting / gathering boots (I forgot the exact item name but they're pretty low-level) are work boots that look almost identical to these and the Cloud Strife boots. Also, the 60 MNK trenchcoat thing is pretty much pulled from a 2015 catalog. Link to comment
Capheira Posted December 26, 2015 Share #21 Posted December 26, 2015 I like that trenchcoats and combat boots ruin people's immurshunz but bunny ears and succubus horns don't. Link to comment

Lady Whiteraven Posted December 27, 2015 Share #24 Posted December 27, 2015 I have been using this coat as part of Ben's rp look since the original event. This is the first time I have ever heard it referred to as lorebreaking :dazed: Link to comment
Desu Nee Posted December 27, 2015 Share #25 Posted December 27, 2015 I'm not gonna jump the bandwagon directly, and just say that no one complained when a FFXI character suddenly broke into FFXIV Universe and stayed there. Actually, that makes me curious if FFXIV is a distant "future" of FFXI, and your character is the same as the FXI char. Digressing, I dislike the Snow Coat and specially the lightning hair, but there is more ridiculous stuff in here, really. Link to comment
